Replacing a function selector knob - Neff B1641 Single circotherm super Electric Oven

Based on your description, it sounds like the problem may be with the function knob itself. Then turn the selector knob to select the oven temperature. Press OK to start cooking.

Sounds like your temp setting knob is bad. Try to reset the breaker and see what that does. Reset it even if the breaker is not showing tripped.

In order for the element to stay on, the oven switch must be broken. No details are provided, but if your oven is like most, you have an Oven Selector knob for ~bake, broil, clean and another knob for Temperature selection.

Look at your Oven Selector knob closely to make sure it is not slipping on the shaft. It may be as simple as the knob being broken, and even though you are turning it to the Off position, the switch may still be on. If the knob is indeed turning the switch shaft, then it is most likely the switch stuck in the own position. Thanks for using FixYa.

you dont need to remove panel to replace, it literally just pulls out from the front as a complete assembly you may find using the edge of a teaspoon helps to draw it forward without marking the steel use the curved bowl of the spoon against the steel.
if the knob is damaged from heat escaping (melted) make sure you grill with the door closed.

Same thing happened with my Creda ESO 210. The function selector works find. It just doesn't rotate the piece of plastic that has the funtion symbols on it. I contacted the authorised parts supplier in Canada and was told it would cost $90 for the part. After a long wait, the part arrived and it wasn't the correct piece (they'd ordered the little plastic circle with the function symbols on it instead of the knob thingee that moves it). So, if that cost $90, I dread to think what the broken mechanism would cost. So, I gave up and I simply count the clicks from the off position to use my oven. facia panel most probably need removed, not to bad a job, but oven need to come out... go to bosch, web site...search parts finder with your model , and you will see an exploded diagram, this may help yet you get an idea on how it comes apart.. failing that call an engineer...
