Question about Symbol MC 9090 (sym-mc9090gk0hbega2r) Wireless Portable Terminal

Open Question

I'm using DataWedge 3.x on an MC9090. The receiving app is accessed through an rdp session. When I scan a barcode that is all numeric, the scan works pe3rfectly. However, an alpha bar code causes the scan to be giberish Scanning D305946 comes through as 3059$^ D. Scanning into Mobile Office Word on the scanner works properly. I have the same setup on 2 servers and it has the same problem on both. The receiving program on the servers isn't the problem, the results are the same regardless (I have tried is in MS Access and Notepad with identical results). I also changed the version of DataWedge (started with 3.1x and then upgraded to 3.2.4) and get the exact same results. I'm sure there is a configuration setting I am missing but don't know where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

MC9190 will not scan a certain barcode, but the MC9090 will, what could be the problem?

Hi,
Firstly you need to know exactly what 'symbology' or type of barcode you are trying to scan. E.G. 128CODE, ect.
Once you know this make sure 'DataWedge' is installed and go to the settings section of the software.ensure that the type of barcode you are printing is selected in the settings. After this is should work.

Symbol MC9090 Barcode Scanner cannot enable scanner error code "A0000008"

The scanner engine/output can be used only by one application. If a second application is trying to access the scanner, while in use. The error message will come.
Please check if there are more applications running in background. Usual MC9090 applications with scanner drivers are Telnet, Datawedge, Rapid Deployment and custom software. Exit one of the application or try to exit all of them. Start your scanning application again, no error should appear now.

Could not active it the scanner on the MC9090

The link works for me DataWedge provides a convenient mechanism for non-scanning aware applications to receive data from embedded or connected data capture devices. It allows the user to capture data into any application that accepts keyboard input. It supports four types of Data Feeds: Barcode Scanners, RFID Tag Readers, MSR Readers and Serial Data Input. It provides user with text/hex data formatting and prefix/suffix facilities. Description
  1. New Test and Log Display.
  2. Improved DataWedge Startup Time for MSR and RFID
  3. Gen2 RFID Support
  4. Device enable/disable persistence over cold boot
  5. Virtual Key Support in Prefix/Suffix
  6. Performance improvements for MSR
  7. Enable Serial Interface on startup
  8. Support added for Event based Serial reading.
  9. Delays regarding RFID are fixed.
  10. Several Barcode character mapping issues fixed.
make sure some security software is not blocking your access

Im using DataWedge v1.0 for scanning the barcode in Motorola MC55.How can i get scanned data from DataWedge to my application.i.e where DataWedge will store the scanned information.Thanks.

You need to be in an application first. For example, launch mobile Excel and make sure your cursor is in a cell. When you scan, it will enter into that cell. Just make sure the cursor is in the cell you are trying to get the info into before you scan (If it's not working, the app you're running may not be compatible with the scanning function, but I've never seen this).

Oddly enough, from what I've seen, if you just scan something without having an app launch, I've seen the MC70 default to the phone function and try to dial the number scanned.
