I installed a black-ink Office Max remanufactured cartridge for my Canon Pixma MP210, but the "alarm" sounds and lights and I get an "E4" error message. I've tried turning it off...

Good Mscarp1!

It is also possible that the cartridge is not making the proper contact to the printer.
You should wipe the copper surface contact on the black ink cartridge with a clean clothe moistened with alcohol. Then, make sure when you return the cartridge it is seated properly.

You can press and hold the Stop/Reset button (inverted triangle in a circle button) for at least 5 seconds and wait for the printer to self restart before releasing the buttons, this will reset the printer from detecting the cartridge as empty.

There is also a hard reset that you can use. please follow the procedure below.
  • Turn off the canon printer
  • Hold the Resume Button (red circle in the triangle), add a printer (click "Power") an indicator light green.
  • Hold the Power Button, release the Resume Button.
  • Not releasing the Power Button, double click "Resume" and release Both Buttons.
  • Click "Resume" for Four times
  • Once you click "Power", to confirm the selected action (reset counter absorber). To disable the printer "Power" button to click again.
Please let me know if this works.
Thanks.

I replaced the color ink cartridge. Now there is an "E" flashing alternately with a "5". The alarm light is on steadily, and the black ink and color ink lights are flashing. How do I...

E5 is a Cartridge cannot be recognized error.
Reinstalling the cartridge could clear the alarm.
If this does not work,
Removed both ink cartridges.
Turn off printer and unplug fron electrical outlet.
Wait at least 5 minutes.
This will let the printer reset itself.
Plug printer back in and turn on.
Printer will cycle and an E5 will appear.
Installed back ink cartridges.

No color

This shows that the Color Ink Cartridges are empty.
Make sure that the cartridges are not re-filled, remanufactured.
Make sure they are genuine.
Check for the expiration date on the back of the Cartridges.
If they are empty, refilled, remanufactured, and expired, please replace.

I have installed a replacement colour cartridge but printer still has message to replace cartridge

Are sure its a 3130 cartridge (and not a 3110 cartridge). Physically they are the same, capacities are different, and crucially so are the chips.

If its a remanufactured cartridge this is a real possibility.

Are you sure that another cartridge is not empty (or nearly so).

Keeps saying insert colour cartridge when we have just bought a new cartridge of correct spec. Says incorrect colour cartridge installed.Impossible to get past!!!

Hi,The most common reason for missing or incorrect colors is a print cartridge with one of the following problems:
  • One or more of the ink colors is empty. The black ink and all three colors of ink in the tri-color cartridge must be available or colors will be incorrect or missing. Under normal usage, the print cartridge will run low on one color of ink shortly before all ink colors are emptied.
  • The protective tape is not removed from a new cartridge.
  • Contacts on the cartridge are not making proper contact with the print carriage.
  • The cartridge is remanufactured or refilled.
  • The cartridge is defective.

Hp c7820 printer 02 black catridge

Open the printer and remove the ink. Clean around the ink carriage and the under the ink with alcohol and a cotton swab. Pay special attention to areas with copper contacts. Keep in mind too that some printers will not print, even with full ink, if the exact type of ink it expected you to have installed is not right. Double check that the ink is correct against the manual or written instructions inside the printer using the number not the shape or color of the cartridge. Not every cartridge that fits the printer necessarily works.

Replaced black ink cartridge and printer keeps asking to replace

The message that persists in saying to "replace black cartridge" could be due to a defective cartridge chip. The chip maintains counts and tells the printer when a new cartridge is installed. If you cartridge is remanufactured, they may have neglected to install a new chip.

Regarding the new fuser not working, I'll have to get back to you on that.

Hp 2605dn Black cartridge is printing 1/8" LEFT of other colors.

That problem is frequently on HP 2600 series.
You must try to change all remanufactured toner cartridges with HP OEM with no exception, the best alignment it is when you change the black cartridge and the printer make a cleaning page process. Cartridge HP OEM should be almoust empty. It Is not necesarry to be a new one. After the alignment process, you can put the remanufacturated cartridges back on.
This was work for me. 100%

I am a printer tech at a large corporate office, dealing with hundreds of HP inkjet printers. From your description, you appear to be using remanufactured cartridges. I strongly suggest that you cease doing this and go out and get you a genuine HP cartridge. This will more than likely resolve your issue. Yes, remanufactured cartridges are cheap options, but they cause far more grief than they are worth.
