Question about Canon MP520 All-In-One InkJet Photo Printer

1 Answer

The LED display on my Canon MP520 has been blank for quite a while, but now changed my cartridges on the week-end and won't accept them for some reason, although they are the right ones, but because I have no display as well, don't know what to do

Error code U052. I know this has to do with the chip in the ink cartridge. I changed all cartridges and still the same code. I cannot use any function on this MP530 with this error code.

Please remove all cartridges. Using a moist cloth clean the golden contacts on cartridge as well as printer. DO NOT touch nozzle of cartridge. Dont insert the cartridge yet.

Please do this :
1. Remove the power cable from printer. Remove the USB cable that connects printer to computer (remove it from printer as well as computer's usb port)
2. Press the printer power button and keep pressed for 3 minutes then release
3. Now plug in the power cable and usb cable (connect printer to computer) and power on the printer.

Now insert cartridges and see if error goes away.

I have a canon MP520 - its been warning me for quite a while that the absorber is almost full. Now it has stopped working at all - saying that the absorber is full. How can i clean the waste...

There are ink absorbers located at both ends of the printer where the ink head move.
To dry the ink absorber, power up the printer and open the cover so the ink cartridges and print head moves to the middle of the printer.
Then take several sheets of absorbent tissue, fold it into a pad and place it inside the printer over the ink absorber on the far left hand side of the printer to soak up the excess ink. You may need to change the absorbent tissue a few times. Then repeat the same procedure on the right hand ink absorber.
Close the lid and the printer should now function normally.

Changed ink, now display panel is blank and nothing prints

You need to change your black ink cartridge so that they cannot print. Just check the ink level of your printer then replace the cartridge if they're needed. Make sure that the cartridge you have change are the same and compatible with your printer. Because if they are not compatible with your printer it will not recognize the cartridge.

Blank LCD display screen

You need to check firstly that the LCD connections are still connected correctly inside the printer and then you can enter service mode on the printer and run an LCD test. To open printer and run test you will need a service manual:

try turning it off and on again. the printer sometimes will power on but if the LCD still doesnt appear it could be shot already.
