we shut the tv off three days ago and it will not turn on. The green light comes on to indicate there is power, will stay on for 5 seconds then goes off. It will repeat this process on its own 3 times in a row. Then we have to wait 10 seconds before we can press the power button again only to begin the on /off cycle all over. We have tried unplugging it for 10 seconds. 1/2 hour, and finally all night long.. Still the tv will not turn on. Have checked the wall outlet and the surge protector we have it plugged in..and they work just fine. It doesn't work with the remote either...and we changed the batteries in that. Is there a reset button somewhere on this thing, or something we can do to fix it ourselves. If so please share info. along with any diagrams that might be useful.... We have a RCA HDTV 52" rear projection type. the model # is D52W14 yx1
I'm having the same problem. We shut the tv off, went to turn it on the next evening, and we experienced the exact same set of events. There is power to the tv, all the other components are functioning properly. When you try to turn the tv on you can here a short, high-pitched squeel (like it's trying to turn on), but then it cycles 3 times and shuts down.
The Rca itc222 chasis ia a problem child/ i see them all the time here at the shop. You have encountered a microprocessor saftey shutdown. THe processor has detected a problem with on of about 30 different conditions that will shut the unit down. The top reasons are the high voltage cuirits. the horizontal output transistor, flyback or even one of the projection tubes.. YOu can incur from the green light that it is NOT a Main fuse problem. TO RESet this set you have done what a tech wound do shut it down for an hour then plug it up. Technicians have special computer interface equipment that they use...much like a car computer to read errors from the processor. The main question is it worth to fix... something like this runs 300 to 500 to fix... The set is 800 new at your local walmart. if the unit is under warrenty ...get it fix ..if not THink about it
