Question about Zanussi TD4212W Electric Dryer

1 Answer

I have replaced the capacitor on my dryer, and now starting and spinning perfectly, thank you. however, now there is no heat. Where the mains cable enters the rear cover, there is three plugs that connects to the inside workings, I thought I only disconnected two, is this correct, the one with just one connection is hanging free.? Could this be the cause?

More than likely is the cause of your problem, you must reconnect it for it to work correctly.

I changed the belt on my samsung dv219aew/xaa dryer. Put the dryer back together tested once and worked fine. I put a load of laundry in and pressed start and then the power cut off. No lights to control...

if the belt snapped there is usually a reason
some jam up
check that and also there is a capacitor a round white tube
with two connections to it usually bolted too the motor
replace this part
you may find the heating system has a reset feature or thermal fuses
also you may need to replace the mains fuse in the plug or etc mains supply
i think as you put a load in and it cut out
then the start cap is prob short and has blown the fuse

LG Washer/Dryer Combo not spinning

If you can make the motor spin a few revolution by manual intervention, then the issue is most likely a faulty motor 'start' capacitor which is located near the motor: this replacement involves a dangerous MAIN AC VOLTAGE device and I would advice getting a qualified technician to check/repair your dryer.
Hope it helps.

Bosch dryer has heat but does not spin

Either the belt has slipped off or broken, or the motor start/run capacitor has failed.

Place the dryer on its face, with cushioning. Take off the back panel and look around inside. You will see the drive belt which is long and thin and should wrap around the drum.

If the belt is broken, replace it. If it looks OK, find the motor start capacitor, which looks like this. A failed capacitor will have a split or bulging case, or a displaced end cap. They are widely available on eBay or from appliance parts shops. Get one the same voltage and capacitance rating, eg 240 VAC and 8 uF or whatever.

What wrong with dryer when it shuts off after spinning for 30minutes and will not spin at all. dryer was working fine when it stopped drying clothes. It appear to have over heated then shut off...

Check if the motor hums once you turn on the dryer. If you hear a hum then check the starting capacitor if you have a multi-tester try to check if it's still in a good working condition. Replace the capacitor if its already damaged.

No heat in the Dryer

Thanks for using FixYa. No Heat issue in dryer is usually caused due to three things mainly: Thermal Fuse, Wiring Harness and/or Heating Element. Start with checking the Thermal Fuse which ismounted inside the back cover panel to the exhaust duct and is mounted in white plastic housing. If thats fine then the Heating Element should be checked. Please do revert for further assistance.
