Question about Acer Aspire One PC Notebook

1 Answer

My desktop wallpaper suddenly decided not to show up. When I right-click on my desktop and go to Properties, the correct wallpaper shows up on the example screen, but it doesn't matter how many times I click "apply" or "OK", I just get the same blue screen and icons. The interesting thing is that the wallpaper *does* show up (without the icons) for a few seconds just before the laptop shuts down or restarts. I'm not a tech genius, but I'm not stupid...I know how to change my desktop wallpaper. Can someone please help me out?

I think you will find, if you go to Power Settings, you will find your answer. It has been set for maximum system performance and minimum windows looks.
There is nothing wrong with the wallpaper, it is just removed to utilize maximum speed from the processing.
Hope this helps.

I want to change my desktop background

Click on the Start menu button. Then click on Settings and then on Control Panel.

Double-click on the Display icon or text link. This will open a window named Display Properties.

Click on Background if that tab is not selected. Click on one of the items that appear in the box labeled Wallpaper.

Inspect the preview that appears above the Wallpaper menubox. Use the Display menu to the right to experiment with tiling, stretching or centering the picture that you are previewing.

How to change desktop wallpaper

Probably the easiest way to change your wallpaper is to right click on the picture you want, and select "set as wallpaper". Otherwise, right click on the desktop, select properties, go to desktop and browse. (In Vista, right click, select personalize, then desktop.)

How do i change the desktop background on my hp mini 110-116nr laptop?

You cannot change the wallpaper in starter edition. The feature is not included, it has been designed for entry level pc's only. Like everyone else is saying the tab is not there and when you right click on the image and click add as background it does not work. The most current and simplest ways is to select and right-click on the picture you wish to set as the background image. You can leave protected operating system files hidden to not have the desktop.ini files displayed, but leave system files unhidden to see the rest of them. First navigate to: %SystemRoot%\Web\Wallpaper. That's pretty much it, place your wallpapers there, create new folders etc, and they will show in the Windows Desktop Backgrounds menu in wallpaper selection
