Cannot Initialize API

When opening Roxio creator classic error appears: "Cannot Initialize API"

Roxio Version 6.2.0.110
Operating system WinXP sp2
I am unable to open roxio easy media home page. I receive the message
runtime error!
This application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way, please contact the applications support team for more information.
I can use all the help I can get.

SOURCE: Cannot Initialize API

1. Try to launch Creator Classic to see if it can repair the engine files. a. Double click on the "Roxio Easy Media Creator Home" icon. b. Click "Creator Classic" under the "Applications" section. c. The Windows installer should launch and ask you to insert your installation disc

Try this and see how it works, if it does not, contact me and give me more details

Roxio has included help files and tutorials that include step-by-step instructions.
a. Double-click on the "Roxio Easy Media Creator Home" icon on your Desktop.
b. Under the "Tools" section, click on "Help Center & Tutorials".
c. The links on the right side of the help frame will launch the appropriate tutorial or
manual.
Also, Roxio has posted flash tutorials on our support website. The website address
for online tutorials click here or go to:

I understand that you are unable to record slideshow and you are getting error 80004005 in Roxio Creator 2010 full version.

Please provide me the system configuration.

In Roxio Creator 2010 slideshow won't open..complaining " Certificate file is missing or has been corrupted". Reinstaling does not help

Hi.

Check that the date on your computer is correct. Certificates are checked on an online microsoft database. If your computer has date Jan.2001, you get the certificate error.

If that was not the problem, then try the following:

Go to Control pane, switch it to classic view.
Open Control Panel ->Appearance and Personalization->Folder Options->View , then click on "Show Hidden files and folders" and Apply or OK
Go to : c:\Program Data
Delete folder called Roxio & Sonic
Try starting Roxio Creator.

If still no luck , do a system restore to a date that is one or two days before you tried to install Roxio.
After system restore, log in from account with administrator privileges, and reinstall Roxio.
When you reinstall Roxio, instead of double clicking on installer file, try clicking right mouse button on setup file and choose "Run as Administrator" from dropdown menu.
Allow all requests to allow system changes when asked.

After successful download of creator 2009, cannot open to homepag

mine did the same thing, i called dell , they could not fix 7 techs tried and failed. so i went to http://support.roxio.com and download creator 2009 service pack 4 (52.5mb) u have to register it first, then download . follow the instructions . mine works now.

Unable to load Roxio Creator 2009. Message says 'wizard was interrupted, your system has not been modified'. My operating system in Vista Home Premium.

During the installation of DirectX 9 portions of Creator 2009, the installation halts, it perhaps tries to roll back, gives an error....wizard was interrupted ... and cannot be completed.

Resolution
Open My Computer (or Computer for Vista users) from your Start menu.

Go to C: drive -> Windows folder -> System32 folder.

Look for a file called dsetup.dll in the System32 folder.

Rename the file to "dsetupOLD.dll" or delete the file.

Reinstall Creator 2009 and follow the on-screen instructions.

I get an error in Creator Classic

Hi,
I'm not sure what the problem is. Does it happen regularly? If it is regular make a note of any actions you take before the error occurs.
Check to see whether you have the latest updates for your software.
Also check on line to see whether any other uses have a similar problem check on any forums...
Roxio may have their own forums or be able to assist with your query.
Failing this you may solve this by uninstalling the software and reinstall it this may do the trick.

I have just intalled Roxio creator 2009 but much of it will not open. To date I have found advice on Media Cretaot 5, 6, 9 and several other items but not Creator 2009. Can you help please?

are you sure is the full version of the program.. If some or most features are not avaliable (greyed out) you may have a demo version, a shareware version or most likely a system requirement has not been met some some features may not be avaliable to you.

did you check the system requirements before installing the app?
