If you are talking about the CD/dvd drive you have to take it apart which WILL void your warrenty. Usually one of the screws underneath also holds it in place otherwise it is located under keyboard. I do not recommend taking a laptop apart unless you know what you are doing. if you damage one of the many this ribbon cables it will not work when you put it back together. If you are talking about the hard disk then there is an access pannel underneath that has a picture of what looks like cd's stacked on top of eachother representing the platters that are inside a hard drive.

My toshiba satellite l25-s119 turns on but the screen is blank?

If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LEDflashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faultyinverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Please click on this link and follow myinstructions to identify the fault and possible fix :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3598095-faulty_laptop_lcd_screen

Replace cd rom with a dvd+rw cd rom in a toshiba satellite

You should be able to, there is usually only one screw holding the drive in, if you hold the replacement up to where the instlled one is, you should see the approximate location of the screw ( may be under another panel, Memory, hard drive etc.., the drive will just slide out, then make sure the connectors are the same, and swap or place the mounting bracket on the new one, and slide it back in place, replacing any screws removed

For some models, however -- including those listed above -- booting from the Recovery disc requires pressing the F12 key, rather than the 'C' key. The instructions below are correct for these models.
CAUTION: The Recovery process reformats the computer's hard disk drive, which completely erases its contents -- including all applications, all documents, and all other data stored on the drive. Be sure to back up your documents and other data before following the instructions below.
Follow these steps to erase the current contents of the hard disk drive and to re-install all of the software that was installed on the computer when it was manufactured:
1. With the computer on, insert the first Recovery disc into the optical drive.
2. Shut down the computer (click the Start button, click Shut Down, select Shut Down, click OK).
3. Press the computer's power button to turn the computer on, and then immediately press and hold the F12 key. Release the F12 key when the menu of boot options appears.
4. Use the arrow keys to navigate to the CD/DVD option. Press the Enter key to select it.
The computer will restart, and will boot from the Recovery disc.
5. Follow the instructions on the screen to start the Recovery process.
CAUTION: Once the Recovery process has begun, do not interrupt it.

The computer's hard drive will be formatted, erasing its contents. All of the software that was installed on the computer when it was manufactured will then be re-installed.
6. Once the Recovery process is complete, remove the Recovery disc, and press any key to restart the computer.
