Most laptops have ether a S-video out or PC monitor out. some of the newer ones have HDMI or DVI out. IF you have neither then you can always purchase a USB video out card just make sure it has the output jack that matches your Visio input inteface. then in the display options set to clone and what ever is on the laptop screen will also be on the visio screen.

Visio TV, model E420i-AO. While watching it the screen went black,no sound, and wouldn't respond to the remote. I unplugged and restarted it.The big "V" for Visio lit up on the screen but that's it.

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.
Before going further; try a hard reset first. If it does not help you, replace the main digital board. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; visit the site linked here.

Visio 1080p screen went light

Our Visio 42" flat screen TV did the same thing. It didn't happen that often but sometimes it would go darker or the sound would go off until I changed the channel or turned TV Off then back On. I contacted Visio through my warranty and they sent me a flash drive to install info on my TV. Did not fix the problems. A year later before warranty ended I contacted Visio again. They sent a huge box for me to pack my TV in to send to the warehouse where they fix everything. It took about 2 wks. to get it back. Worked fine for about 4 months and the problems continued. I will not buy another Visio TV. I found out that they had many problems with several models.

Would you prefer a block diagram, or schematic, or pictorial schematic?

Actually there's no need for all of that.

I have an accer icw50--it turns on but the screen wont light up, not sure why, but its very very faint but i know its working , the dang thing just wont light up

It's the backlighting, inverter, pinched wire, or the on/off switch, when you open or close the lid. Take a look at this video, it will give you an idea where to look : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Yi6GNFcP3w

Can i hook my acer aspire laptop up to my big screen tv and watch movies on it?

If you have a DVI port built in that will give an output resolution that will look good on a big screen. Standard VGA out will not look so great on an big screen - probably blurry and low detail on menus and text without changing settings.

If you do not have a DVI you could look at a ExpressCard with DVI out or and Dock solution that has DVI- http://tinyurl.com/ya6ftfe

Sqeeksquad has recommend to me once a Expresscard solution that will allow you to add PCI-Express video card but this was fairly expense as would have been half way to a new laptop.

Hi, I am thinking of buying a used Visio L32 at a really great price.

I have never heard of pressure point lines. This particular model of Visio has a lot of problems wih the lcd panel and the lcd control module. Major problems and major expense. In my opinion a very low quality product and I will never purchase a Visio.
