How can I watch the small screen of my laptop on the big visio screen?

In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.
Before going further; try a hard reset first. If it does not help you, replace the main digital board. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; visit the site linked here.

Our Visio 42" flat screen TV did the same thing. It didn't happen that often but sometimes it would go darker or the sound would go off until I changed the channel or turned TV Off then back On. I contacted Visio through my warranty and they sent me a flash drive to install info on my TV. Did not fix the problems. A year later before warranty ended I contacted Visio again. They sent a huge box for me to pack my TV in to send to the warehouse where they fix everything. It took about 2 wks. to get it back. Worked fine for about 4 months and the problems continued. I will not buy another Visio TV. I found out that they had many problems with several models.

Small watch type, coin-cell battery; in a green plastic 'bag'
Two wires; one Red, one Black; that end in a small white, male plug connector.

No need to remove it unless it is bad.

It's the backlighting, inverter, pinched wire, or the on/off switch, when you open or close the lid. Take a look at this video, it will give you an idea where to look : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Yi6GNFcP3w

your watch has two batteries inside, the small battery is the one that had to be replaced. it is under the big battery, the small battery makes the minute and hour hand move while the big battery makes the seconds flashing. i hope that i had been helped you.

I am afraid I could not find a free one. I think that the Diagrams, or the book from Amazon is your best bet.
