I have the same thing where the lightbulb works, but the dryer part won't turn on. When you say full do you mean it should ready open or a short (0). I have the one with th red wires reading 0 (a short) and the other infinite or open. Is the one that is a short the problem and where do I get whirlpool fuses?

    Thanks - jb

The unit ha two safety fuses they are in the back so the back has to come off
one is on the heating element housing
it has red large wires connecting to it . the fuse is on the top left of the heater housing with an ohm meter it should read a full scale reading

the other one is a white fuse on the blower housing it has blue smaller wires
it with the ohm meter should read full scale

take the 9 hex head screws out of rear cover remove cover then on the blower housing toward the left side where the black duct comes down from the lint chute theres a thermal fuse on this round shaped housing with 2 wires to it its about 1" long by 1/4" wide if this opens the unit will appear dead, you can test it or bypass it for testing only if bad it needs replacing as its there for fire safety, also if its open/bad clean out any lint as this lint will cause overheating and burn out this fuse

Whirlpool dryer goes on but does not spin does the model # ler7646eq1 have a belt

the answer to the problem is Yes.

please note this

The washer will not spin/rinse if it cannot drain the tub first. To start with check the drain pump for any clogs/obstructions; also check the drain hose for any blockages.

After this is done check the drain pump motor and drain pump, also check the wire harness from the CCU (central control unit) to drain pump and replace the part that has gone bad.

thank you and thanks for using fixya.

Hello...i have a whirlpool dryer ler7646eq1...the dryer will not start...i can hear some action near the switches but dryer will not start at all...any idea where to is getting proper power...

Here are somethings to check.
Make sure you have power and inspect power cord.
Check the door switch when you push in the door switch does it click? Try setting the timer to a different setting see if it works there. The next thing to check would be the thermal fuse but this would require opening up the cabinet.

Slow to dry

Have you cleaned the filter and the exhaust duct??

Lint plugs therm up, the heat sensor shuts off heating element thinking it is hot enough. Result: Clothes not getting dry.

Unplug duct and clean it, also clean the exahust passage of dryer. (where duct hooks to dryer)

Click below if this was helpful, Good luck.

Whirlpool dryer model LER7646EQ1

Thats what it's supposed to do hopefully the clothes are coming out dry. The dryer has both thermal sesors and fuses that tell the dryer when to heat up and when to cool down. So yes the heating element will come on and go off multiple times in a cycle.

Whirlpool Dryer Model # LER7646EQ1 won't start

I'd check door switch first. Improper voltage, thermal fuse, start switch, motor, and wiring are also possibilities.
