Is it stuck or will it not work at all? most likely if it will not work at all? its most likely broken and will not be able to be fixed. it couldve been youve clicked it its last time as there only rated to be clicked so many times. or if it was dropped it couldve thrown off the sensor or broken switch. all of witch is more of a hassle then getting a new one from wal-mart.

I have a new iHome Optical travel mouse on my laptop. I can't get it to work.

Did you put in new batteries.

Did you try a different USB port.

Did you go to start button, control panel, windows update, run windows update, if it needs a driver, win update might find it.

Usually windows will use a generic driver for any usb mouse and as soon as you plug it in windows see's it.

It should have come with a disk, maybe there is a driver on it, but rare windows can't find it.

If you try these things and noting, its the mouse, contact the seller or the MFG and ask them for help, send email.

You send two pages of instructions with the keyboard, and supply the same information on the CD. Not everyone that buys your products is a computer geek, where you read the short instructions once and you...

Hi there Mr. Frank

... do I understand a volunteer and maybe even a "expert moderator" volunteer sent you two pages of instruction AND a keyboard from Fixya.com? I'm not aware that Fixya.com sells anything, though they do have advertising which support the service. (Of course I have only been here a short time myself) Is it possible you purchased something from one of these advertisers? You might address your comments to that seller.

What ever the case, I am sorry you were not served well by the printed instruction you received. Please let me give it a try.

Who ever you originally were served by received your comments and they also came to me because your question falls also under my listed expertise.

When you installed the software, there were drivers installed on your computer as well as instruction and 'how to set' examples installed on your computer for your devices. Traditionally, these items will go into the Control Panel. Windows has a folder called "ControlPanel" and if you arent aware of how to access it - well click on Start then find Control Panel and click again. Look for a folder that has a name like keyboard or mouse or optical mouse or something similar.

The thing on your desk you call a mouse, the instructions call a device. The switches are necessarily small because a mouse is a small device - not much room to put stuff inside. If this mouse is inconvenient for you to use ... go to a office supply place and get one that you are more comfortable with. You may find you prefer a device called a "Track Ball" which is a upside down mouse with larger 'switches'.

You can use a wireless mouse and a wire keyboard if you like ... and the reverse is also true. just as you can connect to your computer all by wire or all by wireless. Some devices use a standard microsoft style plug while others might use a USB (Universad Serial Bus) type plug. Others (though rare) might use "Fire Wire". USB (sorry to confuse you) also comes in USB (1) and USB (2). Newer computers use USB 2. You should use only one mouse and one keyboard at a time. There shuld be some instruction on what to do with a touch pad or keyboard or mouse that you choose not to use. Frankly, with a laptop, id prefer to use only the touch pad.

Optical devices generally know how far to go by counting something on your mouse pad or your desk - somehow judging speed and converting it to distance, speed and direction... somethng like that. In a mechanical mouse, the ball rolls against a pair of axels attached to wheels which spin past a light sensitive transister. That transistor counts the "flashes" it sees and converts that information to direction, speed and space.

I hope you find come value in these comments. We are volunters here and are therefor not paid. We do get "bragging rights" and your satisfaction and posting of positive comments and remarks is what we seek. If you need more assistance, please ask, keeping in mind we are NOT the manufacturer but just men and women sitting at home trying to help you with your trouble.

Thank you for this opportunity to be of service.

ps spelling and grammer do not count here.

Make sure the mouse is linking to the wireless receiver on you have plugged into the computer (there should be a reset button on the mouse to establish a new link).

Wireless mouse not working

Try to replace the batteries in it. It may be acting strange due to low batteries. If this does not help you try testing out on another system and post results.

I can't progam my mouse and keyboard to work

Hi! My name is Chuck. Let me try to help you.
Are you using wired or wireless mouse. If wired is it ps/2 or USB?

If wireless below the mouse and Keyboard you'll find a button. It usually looks like a light. Press it down together with button on the dongle until it changes color. Once changed you can try using it.
