There is nothing you can do but to have it serviced as they will have to replace your promm which apperently is broken. This is internal software which is pre-programmed by factory and only the ones with the correct tools can replace this.
You will most likely break it beyond repair if you try it yourself.

It seems the harddrive in your camera is about to fail and is already haveing problems. You will most likely have to replace the harddrive in the camera.

also the software files on the harddrive would need to be replaced. I suggest you take this to a service center / professional

    or to jvc directly

The software that handles recording needs to be reloaded.
check the user manual if u can do it at home or it must be done at a service center

No zoom facility in video recording

That is correct. You can zoom in and out before starting the movie, but you cannot zoom while recording. See page 18 of the Cyber-shot handbook.

How do you continue to record using previously recorded file on the sanyo xacti

- you can continue recording if you have'nt stopped the recording or if you have'nt turned off the camcorder yet .
-you can pause a recording then continue when you want.
-your camcorder will record clips and you can always connect all those video clips as one using a software.you may use video editing softawares like windows movie maker to connect your clips

*your steps would be
-transfer video clips to computer
-open your video editing software and arrange your video clips as you want them to then save the video. :)

* just reply or post your inquiries here if you have additional questions :)

Zoom H4 Battery Problem

I am having the same problem with my Zoom-H2. I have 2 2650 mah rechargeables, and the draw is such that 20-30 minutes of record &/or playback kills the batteries. Last night I just turned the power on and did nothing. 5 hours later the batteries were dead...

This isn't a solution. It is a reaffirmation that you aren't crazy!

Hf20 - best method for downloads of HD media,, Usb from the device is just so slow

Hi,
Your device already has an USB 2.0 Hi-Speed
interface which is the fastest pc offers right now. You must make sure that your computers usb port is also a usb 2.0 some computers do mix them on one machine . The other problem is that the read speed of the internal memory of your recorder is slow. The average is about 4 megs/sec so if you do the math for a 1 gig movie you have a long wait . Your usb port can transfer 400megs/sec . So what you can try is they now make very fast SDHC cards that can transfer 30meg/sec. Your recorded does take an optional card. Try recording your movie to the new card and and then insert the card into a card readed (USB 2.0) in see if that helps. It may even work if you keep it in the video recorder and use its usb port. Hope this helps

This is suppose to hold hours of recording time and mine only holds a few minutes. How do I increase the time?????

Two things to try: make sure you have a big enough memory card for the intended format and recording time. I suspect you are trying to use the 16MB Compact Flash card that came in the box. A 1GB card will record much longer than the battery life in the Microtrack 24/96, even when recording 24-bit stereo in WAV format. If you have a smaller card, and want long recording times, use an MP3 format. Using the MP3 encoder, monophonic recording, 128K bits/sec, 44.1K samples/sec, you should be able to record over 16hrs of audio on a 1GB memory card. Same card, WAV encoder, 44.1K samples/sec, stereo, 24-bit audio will produce only a little over one hour of recording time. With the 64MB card that came with the recorder, the most you can record using WAV encoding, 24-bit audio, 44.1K samples/sec, is a little less than 4 minutes. With 16-bit audio about 6 min, and with mono and 16-bit audio about 12 min. With WAV, 24-bit audio, mono recording yields 7:52.

How Do I Make An MPEG Recording?

You can record video with audio onto the Memory Card. Follow the instructions below. Recording moving pictures onto a MEMORY CARD 1. Insert a Memory Card into the slot on the camcorder. 2. Set the mode switch to MEMORY CARD position. 3. Set the power switch to CAMERA mode. 4. Press the START/STOP button, the images are recorded on the MEMORY CARD in MPEG4. * You can record 10 ~ 20 seconds continuously. * You can record a still image on the Memory Card by pressing the Photo button instead of the START/STOP button. 5. Press the START/STOP button to stop the recording. Notes: * Moving images that you recorded are saved in *.asf file format on the Memory Card. * The moving picture images on a Memory Card are smaller size and lower definition than those on a Tape. * The sound is recorded in mono. * The following functions cannot be operated in M.REC Mode. - DIS (Digital Image Stabilizer), Digital Zoom, Fade, Program AE, Digital Special Effect, Slow Shutter. * Don't insert or eject a tape during Memory card recording as it may record noise. * Don't eject the Memory Card during recording as it may break the data on the Memory Card or the Memory Card itself.
