Okay, I replaced my convergence chips because I was getting the 3D effect. It seemed to clear some of the picture up, but I am still bowing at the top and bottom of the screen. As well as it looks like the green color is separated from the rest. I brought the TV into SAM and I am reading error codes 7 and 30. According to the Service Manual this states error code 7 is BC loop not stabalized, and error code 30 is CSP i2c error. *UPDATE* Okay so I took the board to the repair shop today. They checked all of the resistors and fuses and everything was good. I had them check all solder connections as well and everything was okay. I put the board back in and checked all connections really good. I am still getting the bowing at the top and bottom and the green not converging right. I have tried manual convergence. Blue and Red line up fine. But when you do green it is off. Anymore suggestions?

Sometimes these boards are not repairable at a local level. I know this very well. It is my suggestion to contact Union Electronics at 1 800 648 6657 and ask for Heather. Be sure you have the TV model# and your board #. You may purchase a refurbished board at a reasonable price and receive a few bucks on your old one. You will be pleased with the results. I have had to do this on many occasions! Also, there is a guarantee on this reworked board. I have had very, very good luck with these . Good luck and thanks for asking and show a few hands of support!

I know these sets very well. If problem is different in any way from before you replaced chips.......double check all soldering or one of the new chips may be defective.

Picture is all distorted ,colors dont match up need 3d glasses to watch

HI, this is basic convergence failure. the convergence board controls the RGB stream and , if its malfunctioning or, the convergence chip set is damaged, it will distort the entire display and the colors will not be regulated correctly as you are experiencing at this time.

simply replacing the convergence board in this unit will fix your issue.

Sony KP-53V75 picture problem

Do not adjust any knobs as instucted in the previous thread if you TV have a convergence problem as shown below. Doing so will only make things worse.

Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem

  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kits for most models. If you don't see a kit for your set send them a quick note and they will put one together for you. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, etc.

Pt-47wx49e convergence problem

I just replaced the 2 convergance chips, but it did not seem to fix the problem. I then tested all the resistors that feed the convergence chips anf there was a 2.2 ohm fusable blown. IT was R7050 on mine. That seemed to fix it so that I could adjust all the colors through the convergence 2 screen. There seems to be a slight bow near the bottom when you look at the c2 screen, but not noticable when you are watching a picture. Since I got this broken, I am not sure how perfect it should be.

If anyone can send me the service manual, I would appretiate it. Thanks.

SPEED BUMP OR BOWING

Your convergence chips and convergence resistors are going bad. When they fail the screen colors will look distorted/3d looking. Another symptom is one or more colors can't be converged using the convergence menu. You can purchase the parts over the internet. Just make sure you get Sanyo brand convergence chips and the correct flame proof resistors. You can also check the site www.TvRepairKits.com for a kits.  Just make sure you replace both of the convergence chips and all of the convergence resistors.
