My flash is not working. If I have it no a setting that uses flash, it will not take a picture, and the symbol for flash blinks on the screen. Other settings work, if no flash. Ideas?

LG symbol on screen flashes on once and red light blinks twice slowly, no sound either. What does 2 blinks indicate ? please advise

Corrupted firmware. A firmware update is necessary. These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

My camera won't flash no matter how many new batteries I put in it. It will take pictures that don't require a flash. I've reset everything twice and nothing has worked. Contacts are clean. ...

Some Canon cameras use some of the screws around the perimeter of the camera to serve as a safety switch to prevent activation of the flash if the case is opened. See this article for more info.

Can't take picture with flash...icon just blinks!

A blinking flash icon usually means the flash is trying to charge but the battery level is too low to power it up.

Canon flash does not work

The flash has to charge in between shots, so if you are not waiting long enough it won't charge and wont take the shot.

If you are waiting, Im not really sure...

Wont take a picture unless I turn off the flash

Here are some simple things to try first for a camera that won't take a picture when the shutter button is pressed, or with an inoperative flash. They won't work for every case, but they're worth a try:

Flash problems

Hey emeffem,
What is most likely causing this is that the flash is set to off which would be symbolized by a lightening bolt sign crossed out. Directions on how to turn it back on are on page 13 of your camera manual. I have included a link to a PDF download of your camera manual in case you no longer have it. I hope this helps!
