Question about LG Dryers
If the high limit was tripping then the thermostat was also bad....that is why it was getting too hot and tripping the high limit. When replacing one the other should always be replaced also...
So, in your case I would replace the thermostat and then also maybe replace the ignitor...they can glow and still be bad sometimes....
