Any Idea how hard it might be to replace the keyboard in the A105? Any idea where to find a service manual or help with the process?
Thanks

All you should have to do is remove the keyboard strip (the strip of plastic above the keyboard). It might be hard to disengage plastic latches securing the strip - you will need a sharp object to do this. Do not hurry this - you risk bending and/or breaking the strip.

Then, remove two screws securing the laptop keyboard and lift it up from the case. Finally, CAREFULLY unlock the keyboard connector on the system board and pull the cable. Remove the keyboard. Follow in reverse to reassemble.

Try this link. You may only have to start at step 9.

Do you have a replacement already? Chances are you won't find a service manual.

On my toshiba A105 my keyborad dont response y need help please maybey lost de drivers

keyboard doesn't require drivers. Someone was kind enough to post the steps on replacing a Toshiba A105 keyboard, and since I'm lazy, I'll paste the link here so you can use it to check and see if your laptop's keyboard is securely connected underneath.

http://www.ehow.com/how-does_5021575_replacing-toshiba-laptop-keyboard.html

If your keyboard appears to be securely connected, then it'd gone bad - it happens more than you think - and I'd replace it. Best place to buy replacement keyboards (new or used) is eBay, and anything above $15 is a price reserved only for foreign tourists.

If a new keyboard suffers the same fate, then your A105's motherboard is bad - I haven't seen one go bad in this manner before, but I'll mention it just to worry you some....

In the event of an emergency, you can use a USB keyboard with this laptop and they should be pretty available and cheap locally.

Need to replace keyboard

Hi,
I don't recommend to replace the laptop keyboard if you are not very familiar with hardware, though step by step instruction are available in net.
First check whether your laptop is still covered under warranty. If so, search the authorised service provider of your laptop model near to your place. And get the keyboard replaced by them. Sometimes you'll get it for free, if it is manufacturing defect.
Please come back and rate my solution if this turns to be helpful for you or also if you need more clarification. Thnx

Toshiba Satellite a105-S2716 keyboard doesn't work. Soda spilled on it. External USB keyboard does work. How do I fix it?

I think your Toshiba got grounded or short circuit inside. Better also to use USB Keyboard, it works.

Key Got Loose

As far as I know, you just have to pop it in. If it doesnt fit right anymore, the connector might be broken. You can call dell and have the keyboard replaced. If the warranty doesn't cover it, you can purchase a spare keyboard from their spare parts sales dept. It's pretty easy to install. The keyboard kit should come with a manual or you can check it from support.dell.com. Just click 'product support' then 'manuals' then enter your service tag or choose your computer's model. Click view under the html option. Look for keyboard or replace/add parts.
