I have acer travelmate 800 series, the notebook stopped working so i bought a new motherboard and power switch still the laptop will not start. it is getting power but wont start, i have tried taking out...

Have you tried powering it up without any periferals?? take out the RAM, HDD, WIFI, CD, etc... I've seen a BAD wireless network card preventing the system to power up... if it seams to power up than put back stuff in one by one starting with the RAM to see what periferal is causing the problem... If not than it could be the CPU...

Good Luck!

Max HDD size supported by BIOS in TravelMate 508DX

Windows 98 has a max of 64GB and windows 98SE 137GB. (That one came with Win98, right?). A decent 20GB should do if you're using still windows 98. Your BIOS should have a list of drives to choose from but it should be alot more than the 4.8GB drive that comes with the laptop.

HDD capacity greater than 128GB with Acer Travelmate 2300

ive had a look on the acer website and there is a replacement bios available , but theres no mention if it would enable large Hd support , rather than flashing your bios and potentially destroying your laptop i would purchase a external drive , you can get the enclosures for 10-20 pounds and fit a decent size HD in this

250Gb hard drive for Acer travelmate 2300

No. I have tried a 250 Gb but my 2303 wont carry it. it will only recognize up to 130Gb but I did not try it with a 120Gb internally, my 250Gb IDE -HDD will run as an external but there is a power surge warning that comes up when I connect it, however I can run a 500 Gb SATA HDD with out this happening. Replacing HDD Acer Travelmate 244

First, you must remove the battery by pushing the battery release latch and sliding the battery out from the machine.

The hard drive will be located behind where the battery was, and you should be able to just carefully slide it out. Then you have to remove the hard drive from its holder by removing 2 screws.

Go to pages 52 and 55 on this document for complete instructions.

Acer TravelMate 2303WLCi

Hello,
Your particular model of laptop will allow up to 2GB of memory. Each memory slot can hold DDR PC2700 with a maximum of 1GB per slot.
As for the hard drive, I believe the standard 2.5" drive is compatible in any size you'd prefer.
