HI,

I suspect that the camera is in Video mode.

Just need to rotate the dial on top to "Auto" position and it will begin taking pictures.

If this doesn't work for you, please comment and let me know, and I will be happy to assist you to further resolve your issue.

I will appreciate your feedback and positive rating for this solution.
Thank you.

Where is the video recorder on the iphone 3gs

Video features are available only on iPhone 3G S. With the built-in camera, it's easy to take photos and record videos with iPhone. To record videos, press/touch camera icon on the screen. On the right hand down corner, you'll find two icons - photo camera and video camera. Slide the pointer to the video camera side to take videos. Press/Touch the 'central red button' to start recording videos.

You may try some recovery software to rescue the voice files on your recorder, here are some for your option.

Photo Video Audio Recovery (for Windows)
Photo Video Audio Recovery for Mac

Both programs can also recover video and audio items.

Note: Before your files are recovered, do not attempt to save more files to the voice recorder in case the original files(your recordings) are overwritten.

No photos are being recorded...

You do have a working memory card loaded, right?

Is the shutter activating when you press the shutter release? If so, how do you know no photos are being recorded? Are you trying to find them in Playback mode and not seeing them? If so, take a look at the folder settings on the camera; the pics may be being recorded in a different folder from where you're looking. Try putting the card into a card reader and searching for files from a computer.

Lost my DS-40 audio files after upload. Can I recover them?

you can use card recovery software that helped me before
1. Do not save any new file to memory card.
2. Connect your card to computer. You should see memory card shown as a drive letter (like H:) in My Computer.
3. Download recovery software, recommended one is this photo recovery (simply because i was using it and it worked)

4. Install and open the data recovery program, select your memory drive, and click 'Next' button to start scanning process which will find your deleted files.

Recording images takes a very long time after turning camera on

Are you using a typeII Cf card. You might try reformatting the card. Or go pick up a type II or III card, the type IV's seem to not do as good in the Canon..

IN CARD POSITION

A properly functioning camcorder will report this if it has both a card for recording and a tape mechanism for recording, with a switch set "in card position" when you press the movie mode record button. If you have a camcorder like this, look for a button marked "photo" that is used specifically for snapping still photos.
