You should be able to boot off of the recovery disc... When you first turn on the computer it should have an option at the bottom of the screen for BOOT LIST or BOOT MENU... Usually something like F12, or you can just put the disc in and see if it tries to boot to it by default, on most Toshibas it will. But try to get to that boot list, put the CD in the drive, and tell it to boot from CD.

The password you are referring to must be a windows password if it's asking for a fingerprint... you can wipe out any passwords like that by just running the recovery disc and it will be back to "new" condition so to speak.

Please let me know if you have any problems, questions, or concerns, just reply to my answer here.

Thanks,
Tim

You have to hit F12 multiple times for it to come up... As soon as you turn on the computer hit F12 and keep hitting it... about once per second until it comes to the boot menu. If somehow the password and fingerprint are before you can get to this menu then we may be out of luck, but it shouldn't be.

Also what kind of auction did you get this from? An ebay auction or a live auction?

    Thanks
    Tim

I see, so does F12 appear to be doing anything? It should say at the bottom of the initial screen (Entering Boot Menu) or something similar... Does the password screen come up immediately after you hit F12?

    Thanks

Ah OK I understand. This is a BIOS password that has been set, and Toshiba laptops are the worst when it comes to BIOS passwords, they are extremely well encrypted and protected on the device. Even if you take out all the internal batteries the laptop has it will still retain the password. Toshiba will have to restore this laptop to workable condition if you want it to work.. Based on the age of this laptop I am not sure if you feel it is worth doing... I doubt it will be free but is worth looking into. Since you can prove you purchased the laptop you can definitely get them to remove the password for you. Give them a call at 800-457-7777 to find out about the possibility of them fixing it.

    Thanks,
    Tim

I want to reformat my Toshiba M105.

There is nothing else to consider as you have copied the data files you need.
Boot up with the Toshiba recovery CD to setup the laptop back to the factory out of the box condition and follow the instructions.
A fresh copy of Windows will be installed plus the laptop's device drivers. You then need to install programs such as MS Office etc.

I want to buy a recovery dics for toshiba laptop satellite l675d - s7052. But i don't know where it's bought.

I do not believe Toshiba sells recovery discs, instead they have a utility called Toshiba recovery disc creator. Which should already be on your laptop if not download from Toshiba website.

The clock on my Toshiba Satellite M105-S3064 has never been correct and it is creating a lot of problems with my Outlook and synchronization of my phone.

Go to BIOS and set the time correctly.
If it starts losing time again, you may need a new CMOS battery.

Unfortunately, there's no way to remove an HDD password. You can, however, just purchase a new hard drive and replace it. You can always get/purchase a recovery disc from Toshiba. Just call their technical support and ask for a recovery disc at 1-800-457-7777
