Sounds like your dvd has locked out to a specific ''region'' as is the case sometimes when one has used copied discs for too long, google your model for an override which can be achieved by pressing a series of buttons on the remote to make your dvd all region compatible, good luck,George.

My dvd player on recognizes original dvds but wont read any burnt dvds...WHY???

most of the laptop dvd drives have slower reading speed(about 2x) and writing speed(about 24x) compare to desktop pc's(about 8x and 52x respectively).
ur problem might have occured if the writing speed by which the cd was burnt might not be compatible with ur dvd player.
try playing dvds which were burnt using laptop dvd writers.
also try changing the modes in which the dvds are burnt.

Hello i have sony AD-7240S cd/dvd drive it can read all cd/dvds but it cant read my burnt cd/dvds plz give me suggestion

there is something wrong with the format of the files that you burnt. its either the format is not recognized by your dvd player or the format is not supposed to be burnt.try reading every details whenever you're burning a file to a cd/dvd. at the same time, check the specifications of your dvd player and find out the formats that it can read or recognize so that you'd know what format should you burn a file into.

Some DVD's have a disk error "cannot read, disk error" then it ejects. This has only happened on 2 titles....3 of one title and 2 off another title. We have over 150 DVD's in our library and they all play...

Its a possibility that the dvds may be set to a different regional setting that the dvd player dosent read, if there is a setting on the dvd player that allows you change the regional settings try another, the main 3 are pal1,pal2 and ntsc. hope this helps

My DVD drive in ACER Aspire 4720 not reading burnt DVDs and CDs

well look for cds that are thicker and sturdier. some low cost CDRs are too thin and/or soft that they cant handle the heat generated by the cd drive.

Not reading some dvds

Could be it does not like the brand of dvd discs, if they are dvd burnt discs. You need to be more specific, is it reading any dvds at all??? If it has no issues with cds, it may not be the driver, but if it is playing up, it would not hurt to try unistalling it and reinstalling also with an updated driver. good luck lilacgerry xxx

ASK HELP

When you say it won't read DVDs, do you mean it won't play the DVD movies or it won't recognize a DVD disc when you put it in? If this is the CRW4012a as mentioned in the title, it is only a CD / CDRW drive not a DVD drive and it won't read DVDs. You'll need to purchase a DVD drive to do so.

Can't read some burnt dvds

Try updateing your drivers firmware.
also cleaning the lens with a lens cleaning cd/dvd kit.

if that doesnt solve the problem then the lens system would need to be replaced -> better to buy a new drive.

Mizuda dvd player wont read dvds

Hi,

A couple of things To try.

1:) The DVD Player May be Region encoded, can only play certain region Dvds. ** Try different Disks**

2:) The Disk May Be Dirty-Scratched ( Towards The Centre )
** Clean The Disk With A Soft Lint-Free Cloth**

3:) The Laser Head may have a speck of dust or debris on it.
** Try a Laser Cleaning CD**

Hope this works For You.
