Instead of holding the volume + button, hold the Play button. KEEP holding the Play button! The new hardwarefound wizard will eventually come up. Select 'Not this time', then next, then 'Allow Windows to Automatically choose...' next, then finish,

Then ...Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

I hope this helps!

Triple Reset for GoGear:
Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player.

Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.

I put in the computer but it wont do anything else. I wont turn on some one please help!!!!

The player should appear as mass storage or an USB drive, if your conenecting it through a USB hub, this must have its own power supply, since if it's taking power of your PC USB port maybe there's no enough power for your player, if the USB hub doesn't have a DC input, you should connect the player directly to an USB port of your computer, is this is OK, please check the USB cable or try with another.

Phillips mp3 player not being recognized by windows media player

try this... open up a windows with the music you want on the mp3 player, then open a windows with your mp3 player, it should be listed under my computer\your mp3 player\internal storage\music and then just drag and drop your music over to the music folder on your mp3, and please note that might not be the exact location of yours im just using mine as an example, also when you connect it if it asks what you want to do with this, click on open and there you go

My phillips GoGear SA6185/02 just freezes when i plug usb in

disconnect it. Turn it off. Then while holding the menu button plus it back in. This will make the screen go white about the splash screens. Your computer will see the hard drive and the device will not sync. Remove all the media and the data files. Plug back in and I was good to go.

My computer wont recognize my mp3

I know this is only part of the solution:
- turn off your sansa clip
- put the slide button on hold
- press the centered button while connecting the sansa clip to your pc
the sansa clip will now be visible as a removable disk under 'my computer' :-)

I don't yet know how to proceed from here on

Windows Media Player 11 ruins this player. Uninstall Windows Media Player 11, and roll back to Windows Media Player 10. Then use version 10 to sync songs to your device.

Before you send the player off to Philips, try the repair procedure.

Make sure you have Philips Device Manager installed on your PC, and open it.

Press and hold [VOL+] whilst connecting the player to the PC.

Device Manager will report an error with your device.

Follow the on-screen prompts.

NOTE: ALL DEVICE CONTENT WILL BE DELETED.

If the player still doesn't connect then roll-back all of your USB drivers.
