What video card can I use to replace the built in card on a hp a520n?

Here's a url where you can see the specs for your PC.

A compatible card would be AGP 8x but bear in mind, you've already got 64Mhz on board graphics built into *********** board.
Just search ebay using :- agp 8x graphics card, should give you a good idea of what you're after.

HI>> This problem started a few days ago. When I turn on the computer, it does not show the logging page, instead a screen comes up saying that REAL TIME CLOCK batteries are low or ONBOARD BATTERY...

Your PC should not crash from this issue. Your PC motherboard has a small (usually watch size) battery on it that provides power for the clock, and basic I/O settings, such as boot options, disk drives etc... The battery is pretty easy to replace, just open the case and you will see the battery held in a little socket. Make sure to turn PC off and properly ground yourself by using a static wrist band or leaning one arm over the power supply while taking the battery out. Take the battery and go to your local RadioShack, The Source, London Drugs etc.. and show them the battery. It should be a pretty common battery such as a CR2032 or CR2025 etc..
Once you replace the battery go into the BIOS by pressing F2, ESC, or DEL (which ever command shows on your screen for Bios Setup, System setup etc).. Change the clock to read the current time and exit, saving changes. You should not get this error for a long time as these batteries last much like a watch would.
If you don't change the battery, it won't crash your PC, but will eventually annoy you enough to replace it :)
Regards, Chris

The light on the back of the hp pavilion 520n is lit when it is plugged in, but the unit will not start up, nor do the fans run. Does this mean the power supply?

Possibly, you can subsitute a known good one and test it, however, there was an issue with some hP boards the "sunshine" mobo had a tendency to blow capacitors for example after some time. If the new PSU does not work it is likely that it may be a fault on the mobo.

Before replaing the PSU, check the mobo for bulging/ blown/ leaking capacitors (the small cylinder shaped components with a X on the top). If any are leaking or blowing ( bulging) the mobo is on its last legs

I believe the bios on my hp pavilion dv9000 is having problems. the problem i have is that the time and date are always wrong. is there any way i can fix this myself?

Hi Rmellon,

I understand that your PC time and dates keeps changing. I suspect the issue is due to the CMOS battery. I suggest you to change the battery. It will not cost you much. I have included the link which clearly shows a video on how to change the real-time clock battery. Please getin touch with me if you need clarification. It is specific to your dv9000 model.

I am pretty sure it is due to the CMOS. Let me know whether it fixes your issue. If you don't wish to do the above you could also try the following

Let me knwo the response you get.

Thanks & Regards

Clock will not adjust properly

Inside the PC is a small lithium cell battery that may be going bad. Or, check for updates on microsoft update to get the clock settings where they need to be. Also check in your settings that you are set to the correct time zone.
