Question about Whirlpool Ultimate Care II LSQ9549L Top Load Washer

1 Answer

Hello My washer won't go into the rinse cycle, so all of my clothing is sitting in a "super plus" sized load of water. Any ideas as to what the problem is? I've tried going to each of the cycle settings and the rince does not work on any of them. I have also unplugged the aground from the outlet and then plugged it back in, still nothing.

Sounds like the lid switch is broken, open and close the lid a few times,if you don't hear a clicking sound when the lid closes then the lid switch is broke, you can try sticking a pen or a butter knife in the hole and see if you can get the water out,the part number is 8054980 and it's around 25 bucks, let me know if this is the problem and i'll tell you how to fix it

Sadly that doesnt seem to be the problem Salde. Everything else works exept for the spin cycle. I drained the water out manually only because it still won't automatically drain either. Any other suggestions Salde?

ok if the lid switch is ok then most likely the motor coupling is broke, remove the two phillips screws that are on the end of the top console, they might be in the rear,i don't know why the life of me they put the screws in the rear of the console, then flip the console up,you'll see two metal clips and in the middle of them the lid switch harness, unplug the harness and with a screw driver pop the clips, just stick the screw driver in the hole and on the top of the clip and push back towards the wall and the clips will pop out,now open the lid, grab the frame and tilt it back to you and up and remove the frame of the washer, down at the bottom pop the water pump clips and slide the pump off, then remove the two screws, pop the clips and slide the motor out and you'll see the coupling on the back of the motor.this is a common problem, just remember how it comes undone because you have to put it back together the part number for the coupling is 285753A and it's around 20 bucks and should take you around 1 hour to repair it.let me know how you make out,one more thing,on the corners of the motor there are rubber spacers,if they are missing look for them on the frame and stick them back on the motor because you'll never get it back together if you don't,tap on the new coupling on the motor and the tranny shaft and slide the middle rubber piece onto the tranny, then slide the motor into the rubber piece

one more thing,if you think it's the timer, there are points inside it that can get stuck, try tapping around the timer on the console and see if that will advance it,if it does start spinning then you have a bad timer ,also when in spin if it's the coupling the motor will run but no drain and spin,i don't want you to pull it apart and it's not the coupling

nathaniel, one more thing,is there any sound at all?you could have something stuck in the pump, let me know,i'd hate for you to pull the motor out if it's not the coupling, like i said if the motor runs and nothing else is happening then it's the coupling

when washers go into the final rinse cycle the machine just calls for cold water so the clothes don't wrinkle as much, check to see if you have cold water coming into the washer, also there's a motor coupling that breaks on whirlpool washers if the motor is running but the washer isn't spinning check the coupling on the back of the motor, let me know what you find or how you made out with the machine, also the timer could be bad,if you advance it by hand past that point does it run?

I have a Maytag Centennial washer, model number MVWC6ESWW, when I start the machine, it immediately starts agitating and adding water simeltaneously. At the end of the cycle, the clothes are soaking wet,...

I had the same issue. When I started the machine it began agitating and then began to fill as if it is beginning the second rinse cycle - well I think it was.... SO, I threw in some towels and began the cycle at the second rinse part of the cycle. Low and behold, the next load started and finished just fine.

I hope this helps. This is just one of many issues with this machine, but luckily I haven't had to call the repairman yet! They all seem to revolve around the thing being out of sync.

Lg front load washing machine does not seem to get the clothes clean. I think it is because it uses so little water??? How can it get clothes clean with just a few cupfulls of water? All controls and...

I have run into this problem several times with LG washers. On one job LG had us replace every electronic componet that had anything to do with the water fill and the problem still was not resolved. The electronic control determines how much water to fill depending on the load size, so smaller loads give you less water, with the same amount of soap. Leaving clothes in the washer overnight, and leaving the door closed does contribute to mold and fungi growth in the washer. The customer tried different brands of soaps and different amounts of soap. He left the door open after usage to allow the unit to dry out, and tried different cleaners, to clean out the sludge build up. We determined that there just is not enough water to thoroughly clean the clothes. The sales store had to replace the washer with another brand. There is an ongoing class action lawsuit against Lg for this problem. Do an online Search for lg washer lawsuit. By the way, we don't have a problem with clothes not getting clean with the Whirlpool Super Capacity Duet Front-Loading Washers. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists

Smell in washer

Vinegar will fix this! Try pouring a quart of white vinegar into the washer, then run a cycle with no clothing in the washer. When the rinse cycle begins, stop the washer. Let it sit for about 30 minutes, then complete the cycle. That should do it! Afterwards, be sure to leave the door open to air dry it.

Maytag Washer Not Completely Rinsing

If your washer has an extra rinse button try pushing it. My Maytag refuses to wash unless that button is pushed, so in your case it may not be completing the rinse cycle correctly.

Just a suggestion.
