Question about Windchaser PACR10 Portable Air Conditioner

Narrow tube v. plug and cap?

I assume the narrow tube gets connected to the plug in the back to drain water? I don't have the manual, the unit arrived with the plug and cap on.

I have the a simular question. Someone gave me the windchaser model SA 12059 and it has a tube and plug on the back that is bent up and not down for drainage. My question is whether it needs to drain or does the water evaporate on its own and I can leave it bent up and plugged.

If the unit stops working and some kind of a 'water level full' indicator appears then un bend it and un plug it and then let the water drain into a bucket.  If it continues to indicate that the internal water tank if full you may want to run a hose to a drain in the floor or into a bucket to let the water drain away and the unit keep running without stopping.

My fridge is leaking water from inside the unit. I can't tell where it's coming from. I think it's a plugged line. Can you tell me how to fix this?

Hi,

This model is a top freezer unit, so check on the freezer first. There should be a drain in the back, behind the false wall, under the evaporator. Clear this if its clogged. Check all tubes and connection you just removed for ice or food. Now remove the control panel inside the refer section. (I assume you already unplugged this from the wall). Once the control unit in down look for the obstruction in the drain well toward the rear of the panel. If clear, check the tube below in the back by the compressor, this should look like a "u" shaped tube that sits above a pan. Make sure everything is clear, this is the complete drain system. Somewhere its obstructed. Good Luck

Water will not drain through connected drain hose

The problem you're experiencing can be caused bu 2 things: The drain hose is clogged or to long or the inner drain tubing to the hose connection is clogged.

The drain hose clog is is easy to solve. However, the inner tubing clog takes a little more effort.

First turn the unit OFF & unplug it. Disconnect the drain hose. Using an appropriately sized, 18" long, plastic Zip Tie, carefully insert the tip of Zip Tie into the hose connector hole and inner tubing. Continue to push it in until you reach a bend in the tubing. You will need to gingerly work the Zip Tie past this bend, until it either bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Then slowly pull the Zip Tie back out while rotating (twisting) it. This will breakup any clogs. As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared, as some water may follow.Reconnect the drain hose, plug the unit in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Set the humidity extraction level to 35% or Maximum if you have a manually controlled unit. Allow the unit to run, while you monitor the hose end for water flow. be patient as it may take 5 to 10 minutes to start flowing.

NOTE: If you don't have a Zip Tie, you may use something similar ( i.e.a long pipe cleaner), but NO wire coat hangers
.

Hope this helps you to solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

I have a gold star hd30 dehumidifier. When it was draining into the bucket it was running properly. Recently I installed a hose at the back by inserting the plastic piece provided onto a black tube inside...

Quite possibly, Sara the hose drain tubing was not seated firmly. or the tubing running to the hose connection is partially clogged . When this happens water is diverted to the bucket.

To solve the clogging issue do the following:

Turn the unit OFF & Unplug it.

Remove the the tubing adapter and using an appropriately sized, 18" long, plastic Zip Tie, carefully insert the tip of Zip Tie into the hose connection hole & tubing. As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared, as some water may follow. Reinstall the the tubing adapter and tubing, plug the unit in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Set the humidity extraction level to 35% or Maximum if you have a manually controlled unit. Allow the unit to run, while you monitor the drain tubing for water flow and leakage. It may take 10 minutes to start flowing, so be patient.

NOTE: If you don't have a Zip Tie, you may use something similar ( i.e.a long pipe cleaner), but NO wire coat hangers
.

I hope this helps you to solve the problem and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Hose attachment to drain water to sump pump not working. Is there some plug of some type that has to be removed to allow water to enter hose? Can not find manual.

If you hooked up the hose correctly, you had to remove the drain cap.

If the hose is longer than 5 feet, that's part of the problem. The hose must slope down and straight to a floor drain. It relies on gravity to drain.

Although you just purchased it, the hose connector and inner tubing may be clogged. This is another reason water is diverted to the bucket. Turn the unit OFF & unplug it.

Using an appropriately sized, 18" long, plastic Zip Tie, carefully insert the tip of Zip Tie into the hose connector and tubing. As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared, as some water may follow. Reconnect the hose, plug the unit in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Set the humidity extraction level to 35% or Maximum if you have a manually controlled unit. Allow the unit to run, while you monitor the hose for water flow. It may take 5 to 10 minutes for water to appear.

NOTE: If you don't have a Zip Tie, you may use something similar ( i.e.a long pipe cleaner), but NO wire coat hangers
.

Hope this helps you to troubleshoot & solves the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

How do i get the water to go threw the hose fitting so it can goto the drain without it going into the water tub and shutting the dehumidafier off.Your help is appreciated.Thank you!!

It appears that either the drain dose you're using is clogged or the hose connection on the unit and it internal tubing is clogged. When this happens, water is diverted back to the bucket.

The hose is easy to check and solve because you can disconnect it and look tru it. Remember, the hose should be no longer than 5 feet.

To clear the hose connection and internal tubing, do the following:

Using an appropriately sized, 18" long, plastic Zip Tie, carefully insert the tip of Zip Tie into the hole or tubing. As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared, as some water may follow. Reinstall the drain hose, plug the unit in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Set the humidity extraction level to 35% or Maximum if you have a manually controlled unit. Allow the unit to run, while you monitor the hose for water flow. Keep in mind, water drainage relies entirely on gravity. The hose should slope down and away from the unit, without kinks & bends.

NOTE: If you don't have a Zip Tie, you may use something similar ( i.e. a long pipe cleaner), but NO wire coat hangers
).

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Where can we get a part to plug the hole so the water will drain out the hose? The hole is not round so it makes it more difficult to plug. HDN 655E 65 pints Thank you. Bob

Bob, you don't need to plug the hole for the water to drain out the hose. Once you remove the hose connection cap and connect a hose, no longer than 5 feet (a garden hose will work), the water will drain from the hose and not into the bucket. That is, unless the drain tube is clogged. In which case, an 18" long, plastic, Zip Tie, appropriately sized to fit in the hole, works well to unclog it.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

After one year of usage my portable A/C drains on the floor approximately 3pint / hr. Unit was raised so that the water can drain into a container without weting the carpet . This situation needs to be...

This is what the manual says:

When the internal water container is full, the back light on the LCD display flashes. The unit will shut off automatically, beep 15 times, and must be drained before it will restart.

To Drain the Unit: switch off the unit and remove the plug from the wall socket.

• DO NOT MOVE THE UNIT. Doing this can result in water

leakage, damaging your floor or carpet.

• Place the drain pan on the floor under the drain cap.

• Remove the drain cap and the rubber stopper from the

drain, and let the water run out. Partially fill the drain pan,

replace the rubber stopper, and empty the drain pan.

This procedure must be repeated until the unit is empty.

• Replace the rubber stopper and drain cap.

Put plug into the wall socket, and switch the unit on.

The warning signal should be off.

For Continuous Drainage: • Switch off the unit and remove the plug from the electrical outlet.

• Remove the Drain Cap and Rubber Stopper. Drain if necessary.

• Connect a Drain Tube (not included) (20mm / 3/4" inner dimension) on to the water outlet.

• Place the other end in a drain. Make sure the tube is free from twists and bends.

The tube must decline over its entire length.

There is a pool of water forming under the crisper - I have cleaned it all out and it continues to collect water - I need to clean it up once a day.

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly. The compartment drain is most likely clogged. I have checked the manuals that I have and I am not seeing a compartment drain tube. I do see what is called a cap. Units that have this cap like device on the bottom of the compartment (Under the refrigerator) often experience particulate build up in the cap. The cap itself is hollow and water will drain into the cap and then drip into the catch basin below the cap. Remove the cap by pulling down hard and slow, then clear / clean the cap passages. When this cap clogs it causes water to remain in the compartment and eventually run out the door of the refrigerator and pool usually near the corner of the unit. You will need a thin piece of wire to also clear the water passage from the inside compartment to the mating point of the cap.

The evaporator drain will sometimes have a plastic disc in it that has holes in it. You will need to lift out the disc to make sure the water passage is clear. A good hard tooth pick or a jewelers screw driver works great for removing the disc.
See item 5 of this link:
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5171276&diagram_id=1334945#d1334945
Make sure that the metal tray drain on the bottom of this item is also clean

If yu have to do a manual defrost to clear the unit of ice so you can clean the drain just unplug it.. place a fan on it for a little over 2 hours. (Water mess) The goal is to get everything to room temp so that any residual ice is melted. The clear all water passages.

Now If by chance I am mistaken from my manual research and your unit in fact has a drain tube clear the tube using a solid piece of copper wire or... with NO sharp end. Fold it back onto itself if need be or cut it clean so that only the wire insulation touches the tubing but clear the tube end to end.

By doing the above you should stop your water pooling problem.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Kelly .

Licking water on my Royal Sovereign 1000 es

There is a little hole about one inch above the the drain tube and out of it should come a rubber strap connected to a plug for the drain tube. On the far left of the control panel is a diagram of a bucket under a water drop, just below is an led that comes on when the water tank is full and needs to be emptied. I just roll mine out on the porch and pull the plug. Also, when the tank is full the unit should shut off.

Plugged defrost drain line in KitchenAid Refrigerator KTRS22KHBT00

If the freezer is on top then empty out the freezer and remove the bottom and back liner of the freezer compartment usually phillips screws. In the back you will see the freezer coils along with a defrost element. Below these two items u will see a drip tray that collects water from the coils on defrost cycle, in the center of the pan will be a drain hole that connects to a hose that leads to a pan under the refrigerator.Normally the water is collected there and evaporated. The hole in the tray in the freezer is clogged. Thaw it and clean it until you can pour water in it and it goes to the pan down below. please rate me
algae, bread ties andf other thing mysteriously get in there and clogg it
