Compaq evo n610 screen dead (by 2 users)

laptop powers up and runs. but screen is totally black. laptop is working though because if i plug external monitor in it works. i have cheched ribbon cable plug thingy by undiong screw and just squeezing it open enough with a screwdriver just enough so i can see the plug.
I have the same problem.

all you need do is to change the LCD (screen) and the module.
module is closse to the screen, under the monitor.
