Adaptec AVC-3610 tuner problem

Plugged the cable in. MCE shows only channel 5 (Guide). Other channels are not visible, or work for a few seconds.
The feed from the cable is OK - when plugged to another computer with a different tuner I can watch all channels.
Any ideas ?

SOURCE: Adaptec AVC-3610 dual tuner only showing as single tuner in vista

To diagnose, try to make it work with a different computer. If it does not work, the problem is with your AVC-3610, else try uninstalling and reinstalling all the drivers and software that came with it.

SOURCE: need power cord for adaptec avc-3610

looking at the one that came with my HP Pavilion zd8000... It takes an adapter that puts out:

5 volts DC
2.5 amperes
Inside pin is positive on connector

any wall wart that has that power output and has the right fit should work. Radio Shack or the Source Perhaps?

Why tv guide shows channels but stopped showing the programmes that are on, and info about them. Also sometimes brings up different channel to selected one.

Yes. I have experienced the same problem from time to time, but not allot. It usually occurs when the cable company is performing an update to where all channel descriptions will display the words, "no info". Sometimes it occurs around 12 midnight. Sometimes there is a lag in time (5 seconds) from when I push the button to go to a channel from the guide, and when it actually happens (but again, not all the time).

Not enough info in your Q to help you.

1) What's the source?; TV tuner (digital terrestrial, cable, satellite. Internal or external tuner/receiver box)

2) One channel - some channels - or all channels affected?

3) Just this TV, or are other TVs affected in the house too

4) Are your neighbours having the same issues?

5) What have you done so far to troubleshoot the problem yourself? (retuned, checked cables, checked signal level, realigned aerial/antenna etc)

My Pioneer PDP-4280HD Plasma - Have never been able to get the TV Guide feature to work. Only some of the set up screens are shown in the manual. Can someone help? I see the feed of channels, which is...

My research into your set and its TV Guide feature brought up two points that may be relevant:

  1. It apparently takes about 24 hours for the guide to load up completely. This would make it difficult to get real-time info as to whether it was working or not.
  2. 'TV Guide' may not work will all providers, and may not work as providers switch to digital. Have you spoken to your provider about possible compatibility?

I hope that helps

I have a Philips TV, model HD2717 C101. All channels do not display--Why? It skips quite a few channels on scan, the only to get them is to actually select the channel individually.

Hi are you running it off of an antenna or cable?
Assuming you have a digital tuner and are selecting the proper type of channel search Ie: cable or air it could be that the tv needs a firmware update to the tuner.

I have experienced similar issues with several TV's I had an Olevia 37" HDTV that required a firmware update to get the tuner to properly decode channels.

I also have seen lots of cases were people have cable hooked up without a cable box and receive "mixed" channels.

I currently have Comcast and have 6 TV's hooked up 3 with cable boxes and 3 directly off the line. According to Comcast I should not be getting anything besides "basic" channels without a box but using the digital tuner in the TV's does pickup most of the channels and even some HD channels that are not there using their boxes.

Interestingly enough none of the TV's tuners decode the channels into the same "channel." As an example HGTV on 1 TV shows up as 84.4 but then 86.1 on the second and something like 84.11 on the third.

My recommendation run the auto program again then go through channel by channel and see if anything needs to be manually entered or deleted. I know this is a pain in the **** and takes about 20 minutes per TV but hopefully that will tell you if your TV tuner is relocating the channels to another channel.

Lastly if your tuner is not digital or if the tuner can't be updated you may have to use a secondary tuner such as one in a VCR to get the channels you desire.

This whole Digital Conversion that we have undergone has brought to light for me at least that our government and corporations don't care about the real world impact on the ordinary person.

Sure they made money on reallocating bandwidth and sure tons of new HDTV's and digital products (including digital cable) have been sold but I haven't come across anyone who feels they have benefited from the conversion forced upon us.

Hope this helps sorry about my rant.

I have Powerspec tv , after turning on the TV ,no pictures after a second?

> if you have set top box ,go to main menu ,check on restore factory settings ,put in default password 0000 and press ok,restarting the set top box automatically, waiting for some minutes.

restarting starts scanning all channels one by one and put them on their respective location in channel store.

now ,enjoy with all channels.

> same process is done with tv if u have't any set top box ,only RF input from ur cable operator.

> Check the connecting cables like RF-cable,Audio-Video cable ,Power cable and others are properly arranged and connected with their proper plug & ports and sockets.

Now ur problem will be solved. Bi.....
