KitchenAid Model KSSC42QMS01 - Temperature in both freezer and refridg seem fine.

  • Anonymous Nov 03, 2010

Just now the board lights returned but in an apparent alarm mode to include two beeps and flashing lights every two to three seconds. ????

  • Anonymous Nov 03, 2010

Thanks, I had researched info on board availibility at the site referenced earlier today. However, a local guy believed problem to be with the fan only. As I said, fan and compressor seem to work fine. Just now the board lights have stopped the their regular and consistant blinking and have started to - sorta fad in and out rather than a discreet on-off. Any adiitional thoughts?

AP3962998 appears to include board and button strip. So, best bet is to replace board ASAP - ??

This means that one or more button strip is locked pressed. Maybe if you play with the buttons this can go away however this not for sure if it happen once this will happen again and there is possibility to lock also the working relays thus the refrigerator will not cool.

My SUN0080 cooler does not switch on Power light is on but if I press the button it does not switch on

If the power light on your SUN0080 cooler is on but the unit does not turn on when you press the button, it could be an issue with the control board or the switch. Here are a few suggestions for troubleshooting the problem:
  1. Check the power source: Make sure the cooler is properly plugged in and that the outlet is working.
  2. Check the switch: The switch may be faulty and not sending a signal to the control board to turn on the unit. You can try testing the switch with a multimeter to see if it is functioning properly.
  3. Check the control board: The control board may be malfunctioning and not sending power to the unit. You can try checking all the connections and ensure that the control board is properly seated and connected.
  4. Check for any blown fuses or tripped breakers: if any of the fuses or breakers on the unit or on the power outlet are blown or tripped, it may not power on.
  5. Check the compressor: The compressor may be malfunctioning and preventing the unit from turning on.

U line wine fridge freezing

My daughter is Sarah Smith! She lives in Cumbria.

Sounds like multiple things, and because of the cost of parts, it is best to call a service engineer. The standard fix would be to replace the thermostat or thermistor sensor. The fact the display has failed is likely to require a new control board and display as well, but one may be causing the other.

Common solutions for: U-Line Refrigerator freezing food. The temperature control thermostat directs voltage to the compressor, evaporator fan motor, and condenser fan motor (if applicable). ... If the thermistor is defective, the compressor and evaporator fan may run too frequently.

and it actually seems like a common issue

There is a control panel reset for my GE Monogram side by side, Model # zfsb23dnss, It was "repaired" with a new board and now will not cool or freeze, HELP

There is no such button. What part # was on the replacement control board? Your model also has an INVERTER used to control the compressor... When the machine is turned "on" does the fan in the freezer and the fan near the compressor run? Is there any frost on the back wall of the freezer, or is it room temp? GE Refrigerator Main Control Board WR49X10152 .... GE Inverter Board WR49X10283 These two parts control compressor function on your fridge, the first two are the expensive parts called for by your model number- the second two are identical function, but cheaper part number!

My freezer model #LFFH21F7HWG light comes on and digital control lights up but nothing is working, no noise at all. Is there a reset button on this model? What could be the problem?

No way to reset sorry. Because the electronic controls have the defrost controls inside it could very likely be defective and turned compressor and fans off. You need to have someone check the overload and run capacitor on compressor first before buying parts
Here is a link to the control board=>

Fan always runs, speed doesnt change (low/high), setting humidity level doesnt impact...is this a control board or circuit board issue?

Verify the humidity reading with another device. Perhaps the humidity sensor is dirty or bad.

Another possibility is the switching device that runs the compressor and fan is shorted. If it's a mechanical relay, the contacts may have welded together, or if it's a solid-state relay, it's got a punch-through or meltdown in a device junction. My guess is it's a mechanical relay since you mention it used to click on and off and now you don't hear that. The relay may be on the control board, or it may be mounted separately - I don't have a photo or diagram of the inside of your model available.

My 02 nissan pathfinder interior fan runs even when not turned on.checked all fuses they seem to be fine.

If fan still runs when all your heater control knobs and buttons are off, it is likely a bad heater fan switch. Unless you have something like a body control module found on newer cars that has some control over interior functions. If not, try a new heater fan switch. Good luck.

My compressor will not start.

There are a few more things to try, in the control unit of the AC there is Cold Control/Freeze Switch. Take down the control unit (inside unit, remove inner shroud) and remove the cover, The freeze control is plugged into the blue plug on the board. Remove the plug and install a jumper wire in its place. Does the compressor come on? If so, you have a bad freeze control. If not, then we need to check and see if your AC power module is sending power to the Compressor. Check power across the relay in the control unit, Black to Blue. If the blue wire is hot, then you need to go upstairs to the top of the compressor and check the thermal overload. If the blue wire is not hot, the comfort control center may not be sending a signal to turn the compressor on. If it is not, do a reset of the CCC. For a five button system, turn the tstat off and hold down the Mode and Zone buttons simultaneously. While holding them down, turn the CCC on and hold the buttons until FF appears on the screen. Release the buttons and try the AC.
Four button reset -
Depress MODE switch to activate annunciator light.
Simultaneously depress the bottom two buttons
(temperature UP and DOWN) and hold.
While holding these buttons down, depress the
MODE button once and release.
Release the two buttons previously held down.
Depress the MODE button once again.
At this time the light should extinguish, and the mode
should register “OFF”. If not, repeat Steps 2 through
6.
Retest system ensuring that all functions are present
and operational.

Hope this helps,

Jeff

Penguin model 610012-001a/c compressor won't start

I would check to make sure that the control is sending the "cool" signal to the control unit. LO on the room temp display usually means that the fan speed is set to low. Is LO and Auto showing on the display at the same time. Try resetting the thermostat first. Hold down the Mode and Zone buttons with the tstat off. While holding them down, turn the tstat back on and hold the buttons down until FF appears on the screen. Release the buttons and try the AC.
If this does not work, on the control board is a freeze control switch plug (blue usually). Try unplugging this unit and insert a small jumper wire. If the Compressor comes on and runs then you have a bad freeze control switch. If not, then you should replace the control board.

Hope this helps,

Jeff

Humidity buttons don't seem to work.

the control board is a very simple design and it is to signal and switch options like fan speed, power on/off, humidity up/down and sets the on/off run time. Like above the board does collect dust, but the true problem runs deeper.

My unit was stuck in run mode with the fan speed, humidity and run timmer non functioning. the unit worked and the power switch turned it on and off. The display said ON

I removed the front cover (two screws) and slight pressure on the side of the cover to remove it. This exposes the control board. The control board can be removed by removing the 6 screws on the board. the cable can then be removed by pulling out the multi-pin ribbon cable.

I diagnosed that only two of the 5 push button switched were functioning. There was also dust and mold on the board. This board is poorly protected from the moist air entering the unit and the constand moisture causes corrosion on the board, the switched seem to be the weak link.

By using a multi meter I noted that only the power switch and the humidity down button were making contact when pressed. Now it all came together. I could turn it on and off. and if you press the humidity down button to the lowers setting (ON) means run all the time.

I used a elecronic contact cleaner and sprayed it into each of the switches. I wiggled it around and blew it out with canned air. It took a few wiggles and blasts but all switched then made contact. I the board back on and tested all functions and it was like new. The contact cleaner should keep it protected for a while. The non functioning of the switches works both ways. They can stick on also. This would explain most of the other control problems. These switched are common and can be picked up at Radio Shack. On a do-it-yourself bananna scale it was a 2 for me, but I had the tools and the spray. I am not sure what sears gets for the PC control board, but this is the issue and if they were to address this the unit complaints would drop greatly.
