If its like mine there is a rod that comes out f the moter usually on the upper left of the power head put t the belt around that and then slip the belt over the beater bar. Then replace the beater bar. You will have to pull a little to stretch the belt.

Usually the drive belt can be put on by taking off the sole plate on the base of the vacuum. If you turn it around you may be able to find a series of screws which will help you. However Bosch bagless upright series is the same as the Vax VX-1 and you can download a manual here:

This model has a protected brush though so the belt on it may just have slipped off. Either that or the button to turn off the brush at the top of the handle has been switched off or may be broken.

No power to brushes no result when brush switch activated

If you hear the brush moter running then the belt driving the roller has probably broken. It can be easily replaced by removing the brush plate underneath and pulling the roller out. Replacement belts are available on-line or may be available in hardware stores.Fit the new belt over the steel motor spindle first, then place the belt over the roller and insert the roller.
The belt will break if the roller gets jammed, so buy 2 belts and keep one as a spare.

Hopw to fit new belt

DC07s have two drivebelts that turn the brush bar - one connects the output of the motor to the clutch, the other connects the clutch to the brush bar.
You can check the latter simply by removing the sole plate and looking. Unfortunately the other belt is hidden under a plastic cover, so you cant see if it is okay or not without some dismantling. This cover is not easy to remove and requires a Torx driver to under the securing screws.
If, after removing the cover, the other belt is okay, if your brush bar isn't turning then you have a faulty clutch. New clutches are available on eBay reasonably cheaply, but again good tools and DIY skills are required.
Have a look atwww.dysonmedic.com which has some excellent info on dismantling and repairing a DC 07.

I have a dyson root cyclone. i dismantled it to replace the belt, it is not the belt which is on the roller brush, it is the belt which is from the motor, it was easy to take out as it was broken, i will...

The belt that fits on the motor is the same belt that drives the roller brush, all you need do to gain access is remove the sole plate, normally attached with 3 quarter turn connectors, use large flat screwdriver to turn them

The belt can e replaced but I recommend you should take it to your local vacuum cleaner service center. They may even be able to fit a new plug on the end for you if the damage is at the plug end.

Check the brush roll, are the bristles worn down? Check the belt also, if it is stretched, then it won't drive the brush roll like it should.
