Im afraid the set is probably in an over current protection mode wherebye it shuts
down to protect itself as one area of the tv is drawing excess current, if the tv led light attempts to change colour at start up as normal or flashes etc this would verify my suspicion

led flashes etc can have a code which would guide a techie to problem, im afraid you

will need an engineer visit, sorry George

Ive just bought a 22 inch lg tv, tuned in ok but remote is now not working, wont do anything, wont even put tv in standby mode. Any ideas?

unplug tv, take batteries out of remote. plug tv back in, replace batteries. best idea i have. sometimes that resets the devices. good luck

LG 32lh200 power supply failure common problem

You might try to follow the diode back to the source and read voltage to know the value of the diode and also look on the diode for generic number--short of that Google the model number with "parts" as it might be cheaper to replace the board than try to fix it by guessing values.

Tv won't turn on- its in standby mode. the young lad had the remote before it was turned on.... could he have pressed somethin on the remote which is now preventing it from coming on?

Powering up do you hear the relay click then you may see the display flash (not necessarily), but then the TV clicks back into standby mode. If so there is a component failure.
will need diagnosis by a repair shop. Too many different components it could be for me to guess. but
the common repair kit containes1 fuse (F302), 1 diode (D304), the power resistors (R927 and R929 for the board revisions with these two resistors) and the IC301 voltage regulator IC.
