Question about Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2) Console

1 Answer

Power cord My son has bought a second hand Playstation 2 from a friend. The power connection cord has not got one of those Powerpack Adapters connected to it and it looks just like the one I have for my CD player. Will using this damage my son's console?

This depends on what type of PS2 it is.Original or Slimline. If its the original, No I don't believe it will hurt it at all. I lost my powercord for my PS2, and saw that the one for my PS2, and my Cd player/stereo was nearly the same, but didn't have the same end on it. So I cut it to fit the hole (Warranty Void there I'm sure) and sure enough it worked. I was even able to use it on my stereo still. If thats the case, please be careful when cutting if you go that route. If you have a camera, or an camera-enabled phone, maybe you could take a pic. for us to see the cord. If it's the Slimline version though, and your talking about the cord that plugs directly into the PS2, then yes there's a good chance of it damaging it

We think there is something wrong with the video and audio plugs, that go into the tv. But were still not sure. The playstation does turn on we can hear it. But it will not appear on the tv. When I say we...

Hello, To test what the problem is, I would recommend finding a friends whole also has a PlayStation 2. Offer good company and maybe lunch to bring his/ hers PlayStation 2 over. I would then attempt to plug in the friends PlayStation 2 into your TV and attempt to play a game, If It does work then you know the problem lies in your personal PlayStation, If it does not work then the problem could lie within the TV's internals, Possible the component connections. Assuming the game does play on your Tv, I would recommend using some tape to mark your friends cords, console and power supply (don't want to mix them up) and then start by using your friends Cords one at a time to see if you can get your console working properly. Probable can skip the power supply because you mentioned you can hear the driver start.

Best Wishes and Good luck!!!

Please can anyone help me I bought a 560hr treadmill today second hand it was workin perfectly, until my son and grandson went on it ..it now will turn on but the belt will not go it trips the power switch...

12_7_2011_9_56_59_pm.gifSee the block diagram that I did for you. Now you will see how many elements or component has the treadmills. If the fuse or breaker are trips. you must inspect and test: 1) Power cord some internal wires is touching insider and produce short-circuit. 2)Capacitor in short 3) Coil or transformer in short 4) Main Motor in short 5) Main Controller Board.

Finally see for any wire is loose and touch the chassis from the machine in that case produce a BIG SHORT. sincerely.

Good luck, G-d bless you.

PS2 not working ..... Help

On the back there is some plates. Take off 6 (i know there are 8 but 2 of them aren't worth the trouble, theyr'e the corner ones close to the front) then pull of the top. Pretend the top is still on. There should be chip right behind the power button. If there is one push the white button and hold down the black lever on the top. If there isn't a chip you have to order one from sony.

No power cord for monitor

Any local repair shop can give you one or sell you one for like 2 bucks. If you pay more then 5 bucks your getting ripped off. Also if you ever had an old computer setup before and have wires laying around one of those power wires should work just fine. Its a universal.
