Question about Sharp SF 2020 Copier

Thanks! Excellent help. I called a local tech who solved the problem for me, I watched and he did exactly what you suggested. However machine needed more than developer, because it cranked out a few copies after tech left and then it just caved in again. I was told the copier needs new parts and really at this stage of the game with analogue vs. digital, it may not be worthwhile to put more money into it. But it's so great to know you're around to answer questions! Donna

To me it really depends on how many copies the unit has. If you are over 200K it may be time to upgrade, only because parts are expensive after that point. I have always liked Canon copiers, because you don't have to mix developer, it is already blended with the toner.

i cant get ur problem .it might be due to home sensor problem.try to use a air blower to blow the optics unit for dust . if that doesn't solve the prob then u have to call a tech as ur scanner may be out of home position and a tech will be needed to solve that

If the machine is saying "Please Call Service"..You will have to access the Service Call function to determine the exact problem.
Press PROG,*,6
Press PROG to select "service call" mode, then press ENTER.
The Error Message will be displayed.
For example Heater Error, Drum Fuse Error, Inside Fan Error, etc, etc...
**Most common (given m/c age.) would be "Heater Error"...which indicates a problem with the Fuser Unit.....if this is the case you will need to contact local Muratec service for parts

The red color is very faded. Therefore the rest of the color palette is faded as well. Have installed new cartridge. No help. Have cleaned and realigned heads. No help still.


This is a result of a design flaw in this engine. The laser scanner mirrors are dirty. This is a common issue as a result of paper and or toner dust in the machine building up on the scanner mirrors. It usually begins in the margins of the magenta, and moves up the machine until all of the colors are affected. The machine needs to be taken apart and the scanner assembly cleaned. I have performed this repair over 30 times wth 100% excellent results. I usually charge $75 to fix it. Contact your local tech to see if they are capable of performing the repair. If in the Sacramento, Ca area, contact Hughes Technical Consulting through FixYa to have this done.

Does anyone know of a reliable source to get Muratec Fuser assemblies repaired or at least a source to purchase the parts? Specifically the MCX 1430 or 2050. thanks,


The 1430 and 2050 fuser units are differently "geared" due to the speed difference the 2 machine run at. To find a local dealer who can help with parts...give Muratec Tech Support a call at 1-800-359-7035 and they can likely tell you who to contact in your local area.

Paper jam--cannot figure out how to extract paper.

HP laserjet m2727nf will not start up


I had this problem. You need to do a cold reset. To do this turn the machine off. Hold down the 6 and the # on the fax pad. Keep holding these keys down and turn machine on. After about a half a minute let the buttons go. It should do a reset. It may take up to 25 minutes to do this however my took less than one minute

This is a common problem with this model. I usually occurs after a jam in which when removing the jam your fingers go too far under the cover towards the front and dislodge the encoder strip. Its the strip that sits just above the carriage and tells its location (ie where to print). 30 is obstruction of the carriage and the 50 is cant find the purge station. It is an easy operation to relocate it after pulling it appart but a very dificult task while it is still together and you will probally put the machine out of alignment. An easy operation for your local service centre and it shouldn't cost too much if out of warranty. One of my favourite faults to fix as its easy as.

I Can not Reset error -codes


Its a fuser error code, the machine won't go back to working unless you go into svc mode and clear the error. I suggest calling a local tech.
