Question about Whirlpool DU1055XTS Built-in Dishwasher

Open Question

I have a Lady Kenmore(model 665-1596581) that needs replacing. Is there a current DW model that will accept the wood panels from the Lady Kenmore? Where can I find the dimensions of the current cabinet door kit for the DU 1055 XTS to see if the old oak panels will fit the new dishwasher.

SOURCE: Unable to fit new door panel to front of dishwasher

Im not sure what new panel you are trying. But if you can still get the old one back on, you can get different panels, color, and designs from applianceart.com. they also custom cut stainless panels to fit or they have a stainless foil that can cover the dishwasher. Black and white easily available too.

Hello,
most likely the door switches are closing to energize the control since to door is either misaligned or the hinges are bent

How do secure this DW to the inside top of cabinet... there are no holes to skrew through!

This is sort of strange, you give no info on what kind, model brand anything.
I will try to help anyway though. most dishwashers come with TWO REMOVABLE BRACKETS that clip to the top.
A single short wood screw goes through the bracket into the underside of the counter top.
IF YOU HAVE A SOLID SURFACE OR GRANITE COUNTER TOP, you might have to side mount the dishwasher. You might have to order the side mount brackets from the manufacturer or a parts house. Some stainless models have a little removable plug on each side that will accept a wood screw that goes into the cabinets on each side.
If you need more information please give us the brand and model number of the dishwasher.

You will need to replace the "water inlet valve". Se if you can get a part number off the valve. I will need that number or the complete model number to point you to the correct part.

Kenmore DW model #665 16023403 will not turn on. There is power to the DW but the panel does not light up. Checked circuit breaker. Door tightly shut and latches. Just 3 yrs old. Would love to fix myself....

The electronic control panel should be replaced and cost about $240. It is easy to remove and replaced --- pull and plug like a standard elect plug, only its flat.

This definitely works.

The heating coil on bottom of my Kenmore DW 16879 broke. Can I repair it myself or do I need a repairman? Where can I buy the coil (heating element)?

They are not that hard to replace. but be sure to turn it off at the circuit breaker, or if it plugs in under the sink, unplug it before servicing it.

there are many sources of parts, http://midwestapplianceparts.com/ is one online. there should be a few in your local area as well.

You will need to remove the DW from under the cabinet and remove a panel to get to the connections.

Not an overwelming job, but will take a few hours if you have never done it... BTW, be carefull of the water supply line... as in do not break it!!! you will want to turn it off before moving the DW and insure it is not leaking after you reinstall the DW.

Peace

take off the bottom panel ....... check for the leak .... could be the fill valve connection ..... motor pump assembly (most liklely) or a drain hose/pump issue....if the DW is noisy as well go shopping ...
