Question about Dryers

1 Answer

I have a gle02152es0 figidaire dryer. As soon as I turn on the dryer with heat it goes off and gives me the error code PF. I can select no heat and everything else runs fine. The control board in it is new ( just replaced it ). Any suggestions or do you have a wiring schematic for it?

Pulled Thermistor and it reads 50k exactly...

  • eddiea1953 Nov 04, 2010

Found the thermal limitor was open...ordered new one... will let you know if that fixes the problem.

  • eddiea1953 Nov 09, 2010

I got my thermal limiter in and replaced it... the dryer still does the same thing ( runs for about a second and the turns off and says PF ). If I run it through the troubledhooting program , it gives me an error code of E9E. But I don't see that code listed.

    Thanks
    Eddie

Check your thermister. It should be 50k ohms no more no less.

I would start hunting for open components. If the control is new then one of the safety's are open or you have a bad/shorted heater element.

Does your dryer feature electronic sensing? Their could be junk on the sensor strips preventing the control from sensing moisture. It might think the clothes are dry. Clean the sensor strips with windex and retry.

My whirpool dryer panel comes on but when you push the start button!, it clicks off and then displays the pf code.

PF is a Power Failure error meaning electricity has been interrupted to the machine.

Any electrical interruption to the machine such as a circuit breaker being reset or weather related power outage can cause a PF error code.

To remedy;

Press the Pause/Cancel/Stop button twice to clear the PF in the display.

Try to start a short cycle to check the operation of the machine by selecting a cycle and pressing and holding the start button.

If you continue to receive the PF error code, the control board may need to be replaced

PF Error Code for Appliances

<p><br /> <p>There is one<b> <i>Error Code that is almost universal to most any appliance</i></b>. The<b> PF or Power Failure code</b> is usually the same no matter what <b>type of appliance</b> or <b>brand</b> you are working with. Even with the fact that this <b>error code is so common</b>, I still see many questions on <b><i>www.Fixya.com</i></b> that are asking <b>what the PF Error Code means</b>.<br /> <p><br /> <p>So now the next question is this.<br /> <p><br /> <p>What causes the <b>appliance to give you the PF error code</b> in the first place?<br /> <p><br /> <p>The most common cause of your <b>appliance giving you the PF error code</b> is a problem with the <b>power coming in from your utility company</b>. Depending on the sensitivity of the <b>appliance control</b> you may also get the PF code for other reasons such as <b>frequency problems</b> or <b>voltage fluctuations</b> or <b>power spikes</b>.<br /> <p><br /> <p>The other <b>problems that can cause the PF error code</b> can be internal to the appliance.<br /> <p><br /> <p><b>Loose wires going to the circuit board</b> or the control can also be a <b>cause of the error code</b>. What is wrong if my Frigidaire front load dryer

Thank you for your inquiry, friend!

I understand that your Frigidaire dryer has been providing you with an error code "PF". Typically "PF" stands for power failure this can happen if power is shut off during a cycle or the dryer receives insufficient power, which could be an issue with your power cord or control panel. Let's perform a reset on your dryer and you can do this by unplugging the power cord for ten minutes. If you need any additional assistance please feel free to reconnect. -Matt

I have a Kenmore Electric Dryer Model 110.60072990. When I press the touch pad on the Select Cycle to select the temperature nothing lights up on the selection or the timer. When I flip the house breaker...

From what you mention, my take on the issue is that a Fuse or board will either work or not work.My guess is a loose connection or damaged cord somewhere. Assuming you are not electrician , what I would suggest is just to check the cord from the wall outlet to dryer and look for any bends, or damage to the cable, WARNING do not touch it while still connected to outlet if there is any sign of damage. Also use a hair dryer as an example , and just plug it into the outlet to check if the electricity outlet itself, has not perhaps failed.Failing this, a loose earth connection, or wire to unit might have failed and best bet here is to have an appliance person check it over, good luck

Neptune Dryer PF Error Code

PF is a 'Power Failure' code meaning the dryer power may be interrupted. The plug receptacle may be bad. Check the plug for proper tension. If feels loose, have the receptacle replaced. Inspect the plug for discoloration. (a sign of a bad receptacle). If all looks OK, Check the power connections at the dryer. If looks OK the electronic control may be defective.
