Dymo LabelWriter 450 Twin Turbo - Until recently worked fine from both sides. Suddenly, no longer printing from left - prints half a label, then stops, then error message says Out of Paper, the blue light...

See if it still happens using a fresh label roll. From the Dymo 450 User Guide the common causes of poor print quality issues.

Poor print quality is most frequently caused by one of the following:
• An old roll of labels
• Labels made by a manufacturer other than DYMO
• Labels where the thermal coating has been compromised
• A dirty print head
First, make sure you are using DYMO-branded labels. Do not use third-party labels because the thermal coating on other labels has a different sensitivity than DYMO-branded labels. Also, the perforated holes between the labels made by other manufacturers are frequently not detectable by LabelWriter printers.
If the print quality becomes faint, small dots of white appear scattered through the printed characters, or light and dark patches of printing appear, you are probably using a faulty roll of labels. Try using a different roll from a fresh box. If the second roll prints correctly, the problem is with the first roll of labels.
Another possibility is that the LabelWriter print head needs cleaning. Every LabelWriter printer comes with a cleaning card. See "Caring for Your Printer" on page 17 for information about the
LabelWriter cleaning card.

Z4M printer when printing on a 3.75 wide label the left side prints fine and the right side is missing half the print. Also continuous wrinkles in the ribbon causing gaps in the print. I tried different...

There is a tensioner that holds the printhead assembly down, slide it more to the right. It sounds like you just need a bit more pressure on the right hand side of the printhead.

Changed rolls of labels on Zebra GX 420T and now nothing prints

Were the new labels thermal paper? Thermal printers need specially made paper to work right.

Labels are "faded" looking when printed. looks like you need to change ink but obviously there is no ink

Is this unit in thermal transfer or thermal direct mode? Depending upon the usage of this machine, perhaps a new thermal head is required. If thermal direct, try a different roll of labels, it is possible to get a bad batch. In thermal transfer mode, the tape could be bad as well. Try a new one to test.

Let us know what you find.

Thanks,
Dan

I just changed out the print head and upgraded to a 300 dpi print head. Now when I print onto my label (2.5" x 0.75") label about 1/4" at the top of the label is not being used. Is there a configuration...

mmm...didn't think the printheads were interchangable. But the print will be smaller using a 300dpi printhead if you send a format that was designed for a 203dpi printhead. This is because the dots are smaller on the 300dpi. Make sure your formats have been switched to the 300dpi driver.

Hope that helps !

My Zebra 105SE is printing fine on the left

I think the 105 has an adjustment on the printhead. There are left and right hand adjusters just above the printhead. It sounds as if the right hand one does not have enough pressure on it, try increasing the RH one and see the effect on the print.

Zebra stripe wont print properly

Check the printhead pressure. there is an adjustment screw that does this. It could also be that your platen roller is worn or that your printhead has burned out pixels.

After changing the print head and setting the Ohm resistance, the left side of the printed labels are faded. I adjusted both head pressure and slid them back and forth but I can't get it to print right....

It's very possible the printhead wasn't installed correctly. It's pretty easy to get it wrong, as there are two pins on the latched printhead bracket that have to fit into two holes on the printhead itself. You have to get the alignment of these pins and holes just perfect before you tighten the screw. You have to make sure the aluminum plate on the printhead is sitting flat against the printer's printhead bracket before you turn the screw on top of the bracket.

Try going through the LCD menu and if it say "Direct Thermal" change it to "Thermal Transfer", Direct Thermal made means, no ribbon required, but it sounds like you do have ribbon in the printer, if so, try my recommendation. If it asks for a password, it's '1234'.

Labels enlarged

if they are diferent resolutions, ex. you change from 200 dpi to 300 dpi, you need to change something inside the printer like the gears (just reversing the platten roller gear and the the withe gera on the motor) and you are printing on 300 dpi with very small fontes.
