Question about NetGear WGR614 Router
Certainly sounds like it has returned the configuration to default at the very least.. Maybe took a power hit & is dead.. But certainly worth some testing.. As this device does not contain a modem, I guess I can assume yours is external.. So have you plugged the ethernet (or usb) cable directly into a pc to prove it's actually the router? If you have, then I guess it worked & you can access the internet via the modem only? If it does not work, the problem is either the modem or the pc. Have you tried a cable (ethernet) directly from the router to the pc? It might be the wireless connection in the pc thats faulty? Then, the next test is to get into the router via a direct cable to an ethernet port, via the web browser..You might have to reset the modem to default to do that.. If you do not know what your router password is..? Also check your modem for correct lights.. Does your modem have lights on the front or side? How are the lights labeled? Pls get back to me, if you try these tests or if you need additional information on how to test the router.. Rgds,
