It sounds like the threads are stripped. And you won't be able to tighten them.

Poor directions how do you use the adjustable stand

Alice if you are talking height adjustment, if it has this feature you will loosen the plastic collar/nut that is located approx. half way down on pole of stand, pull up on fan pole to raise and push down to lower, when at desired height tighten the plastic nut/collar. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

How do I separate the impeller/basket housing from the motor in the Davey Silensor pool pump?

That big collar sitting between the pump and motor body unscrews in an anti clock wise direction when looking at it from the rear (of the motor). The collar may be on rather tight and there is likely some special tool available to help unscrew these big collars (but who has all these special tools).

In my case, with my SLS-200, I placed a block of hardwood resting on a collar rib and then carefully tapped the wood to loosen the big collar. It needed gentle tapping while moving the wood to other lugs before it was loose enough to undo by hand. The problem is that if you tap too ******* one lug, or tap for too long on one lug, the lug itself may break but the collar will still be OK and fully usable dispite a few broken lugs.

Note that there is a big O-ring that sits inside the collar so best to inspect it for damage and also ensure that the pump body and collar threads are clean and that the mating surfaces where the O-ring sits are free from scratches or debris (to ensure it wont leak when reassembled). A new big O-ring may or may not be required depending on it's condition.

I bought a new interlocking collar for my Kitchenaid blender, and now it doesn't seem to be fitting on the base properly. It's resting on the base rather than going all the way down, if that makes sense....

Remove the collar from the jug and have a good look inside, there is a circular ring inside the collar that needs to engage correctly with a glass finger on the jug. The glass finger goes between 2 plastic fingers. I think there are two of them. It was a silly idea that's been given the flick on later models.

How do you attach the chainsaw to the pole?

You simply mount the saw between the two metal plates.
There are two screws holding the plates together.
Look in the owners manual and it will guide you how to attach the saw.
Once the saw is attached, plug in the power cable that is on the end of the pole. One word of advice....there is a large locking collar ring that enables the two poles to extend and lock together. There has been numerous reports that the locking collar ring splits due to overexersion. You can add a stainless worm clamp (similar to a radiator hose clamp) around the rind and tighten it securely. Be sure it is a heavy duty wide clamp. This will help to keep the ring from splitting under pressure.

The upright connector pipe wont stay connected after being taken apart to clear clog

You need to make sure that the rubber "O" ring is under the collar. You also need to make sure that you tighten it fully, there are three "bumps" that you need to make sure that you tighten the collar to.

Chainsaw hard to start. When it does start and I turn it off I cannot start it again.

I experienced the same problem with mine. The collar ring split making the pole saw useless. I am one of those who can basically fix anything you can put into my hands......
I have the solution for you! Loosen the collar ring and ensure the matching edges (where it is split) are clean & dry.....(no oil or residue).
Use JB-Weld (available in most department stores, hardware stores and auto suuplies) to repair the collar ring. Use the standard type epoxy (not the fast drying type). You will also need one other item to keep the ring from splitting again. The collar ring has a 2-inch diameter. Go to a hardware store or an auto supply store and ask for a 2-1/2 inch stainless worm clamp. Be sure to get the wider type that is about one-half inch across the stainless band. The clamp is typically used to connect radiator hoses on automotive engines. Make sure the clamp you get is stainless. Unscrew the clamp using safety in mind.....they typically have a large "straight slot" screw; using a screwdriver is a bit dangerous especially if you have to tighten it very tight. If you have access to a nut driver or a small quality socket set, these tools will enable you to tighten the worm clamp very tight. Do not force the collar ring back into service for a few days to ensure that the epoxy has had plenty of time to cure. I repaired mine a few years ago and it still works great!
Please send me a reply once the surgery and recovery is complete.
The total cost for materials is about $9-$10.
I hope this fixes your collar ring for good!

Bought a new Fluidmaster from Home Depot and lost my instruction sheet in english......Colony FitRight two piece toilet. after flushing, the water still runs (most times) into the refill tube. It looks...

First, turn water off at wall valve under toilet. Next, find the plastic ring/collar almost at the bottom of the fluidmaster's shaft inside the tank. Pull UP on the locking ring/collar until it comes loose. This releases the upper shaft from the lower shaft and it can be pulled up or pushed down on the lower shaft to make the entire shaft taller or shorter. It has to be pulled or pushed over some plastic grooves, so it may take a bit of twisting and/or moderate force to move it. You must LOCK the ring/collar back down to the bottom of the upper shaft before turning the water back on. Locking the ring back down may require a bit of twisting back and forth to line up those grooves inside the shaft. Only turn water back on after this lockring is pushed securely back down, after adjusting the shaft height.
