Unfortunately the only real solution is to return this product for another. Insignia does not provide download support in the form of firmware or otherwise for these devices.
There is, however, another solution: These devices run WinCE, and can easily be brought back to a better life with free software like pocketnav or miopocket, The latter being my personal preference.
The reset hole is located on the bottom center-right of your unit. I suppose you've already tried that, but just in case, try holding down the button for 10-15 seconds. Try it more than once if needed. Make sure external power is connected also.
The easiest map update route for these units is through Best Buy and their "Geek Squad" Technicians(?). I know this model has not really been out that long, and the maps are a little dated. I know, because I two of them, but they seem to handle most of the routing I need.
