Problem for Praktica SlimPix Digital Camera

Camera won't switch on

I thought the batteries had worn out because when I press the 'on' button the 'busy' light comes on for a few seconds and then goes out and nothing happens. Have changed batteries and checked installed correctly.
Any ideas please?
