Question about KitchenAid KERC607 Electric Kitchen Range

1 Answer

I have no power to my range. I accidently touched the side and center of the oven light bulb socket while trying to get the broken off light bulb base out ot the socket without unpluging. The inline fuse is still good but no power to anything else. Could it be that the microcomputer be fryed? How can I check to see.

I have exactly same issue. No power to my KitchenAid (Whirlpool) YKESC307BW6. I tried to bend the oven light socket with a screwdriver (with power on) like a dufus. I already had an issue with control panel relays for ovn elements fried. I plan to get a new control panel but need to be sure its the conrol panel. Did you find the issue and was it control panel replacement? Thanks

Replace the light bulb in the oven

Hello Carolyn, Stuck oven bulbs can be a bear to get out. One option is to access the back of the range and remove the panel and have someone hold the socket while twisting the bulb. But, There are other ways to try first.

Turn off the power to the range. Then using a silicone spray with a long application spray tube, ( most cans have it ) shoot a little silicone lubricant into the socket at the lamp base. wait 10 minutes and try again. It should come out.

Have a bulb broken off inside socket in gas oven..cannot remove..need help

power down at the breaker or unplug the oven, then if possible you can remove the lamp cover and shell from the rear oven wall, then most lamp bases have spade terminal connections unplug these remove the whole lamp base with the broken lamp, remove the broken bulb base, then check the center power tab inside the lamp base to make sure it isn't flattened out too much, otherwise carefully bend it upwards to make sure it makes contact with the bulbs base then re-insert the terminal connections and new bulb into the opening at the rear of oven, then replace the bulb, but,do not over tighten new bulb as this leads to non operation due to heating

Both bulbs on my 2002 S10 Blazer licence plate was burned out I replased them with new bulbs and they will not come on and I have checked the fuses what could be the problem?

you need to check for power and for ground at the lightbulb socket to determine which is not contributing to power the bulb(s). If the marker lights work at the rear then suspect a broken/melted light bulb socket, broken wire, or broken/rusted ground connection. Again, check at the light bulb socket for ground on one side (black wire) and 12V (brown wire) on the other. The light socket should have terminals that actually touch the light bulb; sometimes the sockets will melt not allowing a good connection. a cheap harbor freight multimeter (VOM) will help. Right and left side use separate fuses

Hello- Glass bulbs don't make very good handles, do they? Find a good tech to check wiring behind bulb socket. May have burned a connection, and or grounded a wire somewhere. Electric ranges have two 110v circuits that work in combination. One is out. Let me know if info helps- have more if needed- Thanks- ED

Refrigerator light doesn't work. switch and bulb good.

If you have an elect. meter, you can tape the door switch closed, remove bulb, and touch your leads, one to the center tab on the socket and the other to the threaded portion of the socket, where the bulb screws in and you should have 120volts. If you are sure you have no power, unplug it and try and gently pull out the switch. This is the only thing between the light and main power below. The switch only connects to one of the 2 wires and a connector may have burned or come loose. If you have power to one side of the switch to ground, and its taped closed, and have no power coming out the other side, then you have a faulty switch. You can get a socket and or switch at your local appliance parts house. Just take the model, serial, name, and product # if there is one and they can match one up for you. I'm betting its the door switch.

Reposition light socket

It probably has to fit into a very narrow offset opening, like a tab into a cereal box. The hard part is getting the fixture up in and flat enough to slide it into position. You probably can't get to it from above. The ovens are normally sealed to prevent fires from going through.

Oven light exploded and seems fused in socket

I was able to remove the base from the socket by inserting pliers and opening them so that they pressed against the inner sides of the base and then turning while exerting pressure.
