Just go to the Manufacturers website. Look at the MOBO and see if it has a brand name and a model number. try googling it.

Once you get past the hurdle of finding out eh model number, look for the Mobo chipset drivers or just the audio drivers by themself. Install them and see if it works.

Also check, it could be simple. That nothings muted, you have everything connected right as far as speakers and what not. Play a sound file while switching out the speaker Jacks and playing with the volume controls.

You can try the windows update and if your lucky they may have some updated driver for it that you dont have installed.

If it worked before then it should work now, Do you have the Original installtion CD for the MotherBoard?

If so, run it and install all the drivers again to be sure.

Good luck.

Chikaasia is right. Itwould help to have some PC specs or atleast the mother board specs. Or, you can go to your PCs manufacturer's website (HP, Dell, etc) and go to the support area to locate the sound river. If it is a ustom built PC, then go to the mother board manufacturer's website (Asus,ASI, etc) and from there you can locate ther sound driver from their suppoer page. I hope this helps a bit, if not, then give us some specs and we will forward you some links. Thanks.

I will like to install the sound drives on my computer because i lost every thing

When you reformat/reinstall your computer you need to reinstall all of your hardware drivers as well. You can download these from Compaq's website here:
http://www.compaq.com/country/cpq_support.html
On option 1 choose "Software & Driver downloads" and for option 2 enter in your Product Number, found on your compaq computer. Download and install each of the hardware drivers you need, then double-click on each of the files in succession and follow the on-screen instructions to install all of the drivers. You will likely need to reboot quite a few times.
Your audio should now be working!

Problems with audio controller

Hi,

To my knowledge there are five versions of this motherboard (P4S533, E, MX, VM & X), pls verify your particular board. In any case, for the sound driver of an Asus P4S533 in Windows XP, pls start here. In Select the Product, choose Motherboard, in Select Series, scroll down and select Socket 478 and in the Select Models, go down till your motherboard model is displayed. Click on the SEARCH button. You would then be prompted for what Operating System. Clicking on the SEARCH button would display all the drivers, expand Audio.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
