Did the monitor ever work properly with the computer?
If it did , and it no longer does mabe something that you changed caused the problem.
Try system restore to a previous date when the monitor was working, if it ever did.
Try using a lower resolution, control panel/ display/settings.
You can go into safe mode by the f8 key once the widows black screen appears after you turn the computer on. This will take you to a menu that will allow you to goto safe mode. Choose safe mode with networking and you will be able to access the internet if you need to download new display drivers from the manufactorer of the monitor.

Plasma tv connections

What you need is a device called a multi-switch. Here's a page which details some of the switches available with different satellite setups. You would hook up your sat recievers, your TV and your recorder up to the multiswitch:

My monitor says: "No input

First, are you using the VGA cable (cable with 15-pin on each end), or DVI cable?
It can be that the PC is not sending out the video signals, or loose cable connections, please check that first. You can also try this monitor with another PC to narrow down the problem.
Please post back what you find for further help.

Connect TOSHIBA SATELLITE A205-S5855 Laptop to TOSHIBA 40H80 TV

You can use the VGA cable which has 15 pins at both ends. For sound, you will need mini stereo phone plug at both ends.
You will have to use the combo key Fn and either F5, 6, or 7 to select the internal, external, both.
Make sure to set the video resolution to the native resolution of this TV otherwise you will get 'Format nor supported' on the screen.

I am running Red Hat Linux Enterprise my new Acer H233H is saying Input not supported any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

It says input not support because the PC video resolution is too high for the monitor to display, just need to lower the resolution. Nothing to do with OS, just the video setting.

If you set to native resolution and it still does not work then you will have to open it up and inspect the inside.

W17e says "input not supported"

Hi - here's what I found about your wide screen monitor:

The HP Pavilion w17e LCD wide-screen monitor has the following features:
  • 1440 x 900 factory-set resolution
  • Supports VGA analog signal video input
  • Plug and play capability, if supported by your computer system
  • On-screen display (OSD) adjustments for ease of setup and screen optimization
  • Energy Star compliant
Download & install the drivers for the monitor based on the version of Windows you are running from the HP site below:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&cc=pe&dlc=es&product=3377546&

Once the drivers are installed, your issues should be resolved - the driver will allow only the modes that can be displayed on the monitor - probably giving you options for resolutions you hadn't seen before.

I was tring to Connect Two Computers to One Monitor, but i didnt get it, does someone know how to do so? I bought a KVM switch, USB to use between a new Acer running Win XP and old Dell with Win 98. Could...

I guessing that since **-one responded you've given up and returned the whole mess but what the hey.

A lot depends on the KVM you're using. There are some high end units that will match different sources to the monitor but most work best with matched input and output. Unless you's specifically states that it will convert analog to digital it won't. So if it's an analog KVM then both the computer video boards need to have an analog VGA jack and the monitor does too. If the KVM is ditital you need to have all the systems and monitor digital. Savi? The Monitor may support boath analog and digital input but NOT at the same time. You can't plug in two computers at the same time, that's what the KVM is for.

The bottom line here is that you typically need to run the least common de**minator to use a KVM. Also, if the computers have different frequency (resolution) out put and you hit the KVM switch then the monitor will freak out. Some monitors will auto-switch between frequencies but most don't (especially the cheapies).

There are adapters that will down convert digital to analog. If you're dead set on using the KVM with that old Dell then you may need to plug the down converter into the Acer Video Board but you'll loose the high resolution and sharp picture from the digital video. If it was me and I had to use the KVM, I'd get a cheap digital video card for the Dell or just run two monitors.

I run 5 systems on my desk, Three of which are older servers with analog video. They share an analog KVM with video and keyboard on the wall. The other two systems are current generation and share a KVM and 27" flat panel center desk. I also have a laptop that hangs on the other wall with a laser blue tooth keyboard on the other side of my desk. Now if my wife would only let me turn part of her craft studio into a server room.....

Screen prob.

For flat panel systems there are 2 inputs. DVI using the white cable and VGA. by default flat panels are set to DVI input. hit the menu button on the screen and there should be an option there to change the input video. if this will not work it could be a problem on the video port on your acer computer or it could you might need a new VGA cable.
