You should check if problem is battery or the charger. There are many chargers compatible with your model so you shoud try. Samsumg chargers are not expensive.
If it is the battery, ask if it's available and decide if it's worth to spend.
You shouldn't dispose trowing it to the sea. Recycle!

If the cell phone battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out.Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles andwill lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR Thebattery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the batterydrops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to anunacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.
I have a Motorola RAZR V3x which has worked reliably for about 3 years. Very recently (having been recharged a couple of hours earlier & without any prior suggestion of impending battery failure), the phone has refused to turn on and attempts to charge it with the factory charger do not even light the blue charge indicator. An attempt to charge it through the computer's USB port lit the blue charge indicator for about 1 second but also failed to charge the battery.
Switch off the mobile. Open the back cover (refer to user manual to avoid damage to set), Take off the battery, clean the battery terminals as well as the contact pins. Reinsert the battery, recharge till the green charging indiactor goes off and then start using your phone.
PLEASE AVOID INDUCING JERKS TO THE SET AS IT MAY PERMANENTLY DAMAGE THE SET SINCE THE BOARDS INSIDE ARE VERY DELICATE.

If both the charger and the battery are warm to the touch, the battery is probably charged.
The low battery level warning level is learned by the phone. To train it, allow the battery to run down once until the phone stops working, then recharge it.
The best way totest the charging operation would be to try using the phone. Fully charged you should get about 6 hours of talk time from a fully charged battery, and at least a week of standby operation.
