Re: thanks, i've done it. but....
If the drivers from the manufacturer's web site don't work, then I would recommend signing up for Driver Guide, at http://www.driverguide.com
Registration is free, and they have a MASSIVE database of drivers.
Another option would be to install Windows XP instead of Windows 98; Most of the drivers you need should be automatically installed with XP.
Lastly, you can always contact Foxconn Customer Service and request a driver CD. There may be a fee for it, but they shouldn't have any problem sending you copies of the original utilities.

Well this usually happens! Its weird but I have no more theory, with a new Power Supply will not work, believe or not sometimes old computers [or in this case motherboard] will not even boot the BIOS with a different power supply than the one that the motherboard has always used, sounds weird but if you try it, you will see that will boot like if nothing happened before... give it a try and tell me how it goes... Best regards and LUCK!!! Luis
Checked your RAM chips? Remove them and boot up and see if it will beep. If you have another DVD drive, swap it and try again. The board battery rarely goes, and only change it when it is not keeping the date/time etc, it won't help in outputting video.
The message you saw has nothing to do with the installation of you're printer software. Please connect you're printer to the computer & connect the power as per manual. Click on this link. http://www.hp.com/sbso/bussupport.html
Click the circle next to the sentance; Download drivers and software (and firmware). Than click; Start Detection
HP will scan you're system.(There may be a couple screens where you will need to install a HP program & give permission screens). Once done HP will find you're connected printer & download the latest software for you're 2300 printer. Sit back & follow the instructions.
The beep test is notrmally done with the small speaker attached to the computer internally,
there could be a problem with the RAM installation check the RAM compatablity with the mother board, give me further details of the make and model of the mother board and RAM ,
i will try to help you.
