You have reported that there is a sound problem for your TV. I don't know you have tried all the options in the sound menu of your TVs user manual, you haven't stated anyting about it. Anyway I assume that there was sound, and it has gone now only and send this solutiion.
Just connect the audio out socket on the rear of your tv, to any audio devices you have, an amplifier or so, and check whether cound comes from that device or not. If there is no sound from that device, it means that something has gone in trouble with your TVs sound filtering system, which is integrated on the printed circuit board inside and you must have skill and through knowledge about soldering, and to follow the circuit schematic digram.
If there is sound now through that device, means either your TVs speaker has damaged or its Sound Output Ic is damaged. If speaker is damaged, it can be easlyto replaced with an identical one. To make sure about it, you just place your ear very near to the speaker side of your TV, and switch ON it by AC MAINS. You will hear a small "Thumb" sound if your speakers are Ok. If there is no "Thumb" sound you can make sure that the speaker is damaged. If you hear a "Hum" sound, it means that your TVs Sound Output Ic has damaged.
You just check these, and report the result to me through Fixya. Since you have given a small description about your TVs fault; with two or three words, how can I get to the exact point of fault. Give me details as much as you can an you know. Ok.

There should be a cd installer comes with the sound card.. it is the driver that you need to install for the sound card to work...

I get no sound out of the amp


Sounds like your amp has bad output transistors, either that or something on the circuit board has come loose. Call the manufacturer.

Sound not coming out of the rear or center speakers


Sort of confused a bit I understand you buying a new system you say the sound does not come out the rear and centre speakers does the sound come out of any spearkers other than the two you mention if it is then your wirings are wrong if the sound is not coming out of any speakers then its the sound card BUT you will know this immediately you disconnect that system. The sound would be coming out of the laptop ordinaryly? which is it?
