It has 3 pairs of rca outputs, one pair for the front, one for the rear, and another for the subwoofer. the other sub preamp output is not needed to run to your amplifier.

For better sound quality, buy an RCA Y splitter cable (single male connection to double female connections), and run your regular pair of rca cables to the amp.

Here's a cheap but decent quality one for $5 shipping.

Radioshack will have one for sure.

Can I use a JX-S900 Y/C separated I/O to run two subwoofers out of same reciever??

Yes, on two conditions:

1) the JX-S900 needs to be a proper matrix switcher. It has to have the ability to route 1 input to more than one output.

2) the sub signals need to be low level RCA/phono, and not high level speaker wire connections. That's not just about the type of connector. It's about the signal going through those wires. A low level RCA/phono sub connection conducts a maximum 0.7 Volt. A speaker wire connection can transmit 30 Volts! If you put 30 Volts in to a line level switching device such as the JX0S900 you'll fry it.

Provided that the above two criteriia are both met, then yes it will work.

  • Connect the AV receiver's sub out to Source 1 - white RCA phono.

  • Connect the two subs mono LFE Left input (white RCA) or the single black RCA/phono inputs to the JVC's outputs 1 and 2 - white RCA/phono.

  • Set the source routing: input 1 goes to output 1 and 2

I have a 12" d4 type r 1000 rms and a alpine 1000 amp speaker sounds great but smells like something is burning, my amp never over heats or shuts down but the smell is still coming from the sub?

Cut your gain back on the amp. It sounds like they are set too high. Check your install instructions on how to set your gain. If you have a 4 or 5 volt output head unit your will not be at half way. Im running a JL Audio 500 /1 on a skar wwv10 dvc in a ported box. My gain is set about half way & its plenty loud.I have a Alpine 9887 headunit 5 volt output on my RCAsI can take a volt meter & set my speaker output at 45amps & my gain in perfect.

Bi-amping a DVC sub

Hook each amp to one of the voice coils. Be sure both amps are getting the same mono signal. Don't run one with the right side of your headunit & the other on the left. It will sound bad & tear up the sub.

Subs cut out when bass hits

assuming that both subwoofers are working fine: check what voltage output your headunit has (RCA output voltage) and match it to your amplifiers input sensitivity (GAIN) eg: if your headunit has 4 volt outputs then on this particular amplifier your gain knob would be completely to the left as if in the off or 0 posirion.

if u are not sure of your headunits output voltage you could check the manuals specification page or send me the barand and model number of your headunit and I will check it for u.

hope this helps. let me know if I can assist you any further.

Im trying to hook up a paradigm pdr-12 to my tv and xbox 360 and need an idea of how to do this the right way so it only plays the bass and nothing else

Hello there this subwoofer has a built in crossover variable from 50hz to 150hz which means that any signal you feed it the sub it will ignore anything but bass anyway.

As for the connection it is made quite difficult if you don't already have an amplifier powering your other speakers, usually home cinema amplifiers have a low level pre out for subwoofers, for which you would just need a phono to phono cable.

However if it doesn't and you have any type of amplifier with at least 2 separate left and right speakers you can connect the wires from these into the subwoofer and it will output the bass from these 2 channels.

Another option is to use a mono to stereo (2 to 1) phono cable where the 2 connectors at one end connect to a tape or record output on your amplifier and the single phono at the other connects to the subwoofer, the same would go if you have a red & white phono (RCA) output on your TV you could also use this to power the sub, in the worst case scenario you could use a single to single phono or rca cable to connect one of the output channels (left or right) on your TV to the subwoofer however this would mean that the subwoofer would only output bass from either the left or right channel.

Hope this helps

Kind Regards

Ant

I just bought two rockford fosgate t1 twelves duel voice coil 4ohm I'm running a old school alpine v12 1507 mrv 2channel. I want to bridge the amp to get the most out of these subs would it be better...

Hi there,
This amp should run comfortable at 2 ohms/channel. However, your dual voice coil subs are rated at 4 ohms. This means when you connect the 2 voice coils together in parellel (positive to positive and negative to negative both coils wired to one output) the amp will see 2 ohms. So if you connect both subs to one output then your amp will see 1 ohm (not good) If you run the voice coils in parellel but the subs in series then the 2 resistances (ohms) will be added together. So that way the amp will se 4 ohms. This is fine but the amp would push more power into 2 ohms. You can run one sub on each channel if you can split the head unit output to 2 outputs, problem is then you will be halving the amount of power to each channel. Personally I would probably be more inclined to run 1 sub on this amp and run another amp from the pre-outs on the first amp for the 2nd sub. Try to find another amp the same to run the second sub. Mind you, 2 of these amps will need some big power cable to run them but should shake your teeth out!
Hope this helps

Can you please tell me how to connect my kef psw

If your amp has a "sub out" jack, that's the best way to hook up this sub. You'll just need a single RCA (also called "phono") cable. Connect it to the Left input on the sub, which should also be marked as "mono"

If your amp just has speaker-level outputs, then connect the left and right main speakers from your amp to the sub's high-level inputs, and then run wires from the sub's high-level outputs to your speakers.

If you're running a surround-sound setup, use the front-left and front-right speakers for this hookup.

These are all the connectors on the back. The "1 x component video output" indicates that you can use the "3 color video cord" you have, better known as Component Video Cable.

Connector Type: 1 x HDMI ( 19 pin HDMI Type A ) - rear ¦ 1 x component video output ( RCA phono x 3 ) - rear ¦ 1 x S-Video output ( 4 pin mini-DIN ) - rear ¦ 1 x composite video output ( RCA phono ) - rear ¦ 1 x audio line-out ( RCA phono x 2 ) - rear ¦ 1 x 5.1 channel audio line-out ( RCA phono x 6 ) - rear ¦ 1 x digital audio output (coaxial) ( RCA phono ) - rear ¦ 1 x digital audio output (optical) ( TOSLINK ) - rear ¦ 1 x network ( RJ-45 ) - rear ¦ 2 x USB - front

Help

you cannot get your tv to play surround sound through the speakers, but if your tv has either a scart 21 pin socket or an audio out, you can fit a scart to phono adapter and connect the phono plugs to the audio left right input on your sound system, likewise if you have audio left and right output(phono) on the tv, connect to audio in on your unit. You should have a choice of output channels on the system menu, similiar to DVD/video1/video2 or output 1 and 2 or auxilliary 1 and 2
