Question about HP Digital Projector sb21 Multimedia Projector

Can't use my hp sb21 with my Macbook

I'm trying to use my HP sb21 with a recently purchased Macbook (Intel Core Duo 2.4Ghz, 4GB RAM).  The Macbook is able to identify the projector, but the projection is fixed in the "waiting for signal" screen.  I'm sure that nothing is wrong with the projector as it works well with my Dell XPS 1210.

I have the same problem. I connected my 2.6 Ghz macbook pro to an HP sb21 projector and the projector is fixed on the waiting for signal screen...although the projector is detected by the computer.

same problem, the computer recognizes the projector, but the projector does not recognize the computer. (I have a MacBook Pro with OSX)

turns off after 15-20 minutes. Once off, it can be restarted, but then will do the same thing again. I have already blown it out with air, also have switched the bulb to see if that had anything to do with it (no). Used a brand-new bulb to test-- it did the same thing. The machine has been well-cared for and still has about 60% left on the bulb life.

My projector HP SB21 does not respond at all. I thought it was the lamp so I bought a new one (cost me almost the same as the projector itself). Nothing turns on, not even a small indication light. Im Sure it was not the lamp. I tested other cable too and nothing still. What are the other most common parts that burn?

The problem with MacBooks and MacBook Pros with regard to running this projector is the fact that the normal cable had both USB and video running through it. It worked fine with iBooks, but with the MacBook series it no longer does.

One solution with the plain vanilla MacBook is to use a mini DVI to S-video dongle with an S-video cable. Resolution is limited to the S-video (lousy), but it works.

The other potential solution is a combination of cables. Mini DVI to M1 female adaptor combined with a M1 Male to DVI-D Male cable. The cable is available from Cables to Go and by itself provides the proper connections for a MacBook Pro and SB21 projector.

Can i place a 4g and 2g stick in my macbook pro

Hello! The MacBook Pro you have mentioned can only support 4GB's total. 2GB's in the first slot, and 2GB's on the second slot.

What you may have seen by accident was that you can purchase either a 4GB kit, or a 2GB kit. Meaning a 4GB kit with 2 2GB sticks, or a 2GB kit with 2 1GB sticks.

Your best bet is to go with a 2GB stick in each slot to max out your MacBook Pro. 2GB's is the largest each slot can read.

For more information, check out the website below which has very detailed information on memory for various systems.
