The software Mr. Maitia referred to is called Setpoint, and it's the key to getting full use out of your 510, or any other Logitech mouse/keyboard/etc. product. All versions of the Setpoint software and drivers for Logitech products are available for free download at the Logitech support website. Here's the link: Logitech Support
Some tips.. this is not to say all that has happened, loads of time consuming tips are at the mouse company, which has pages and pages of tests. Mostly when this happens to me, it is my pc overclocking it's P4 Processor. ctrl + alt + delete = start the task manager, after that look at the cpu
or processor usage. Nearing 100% all the time freezes the mouse and
the pages. The issue is probably that people need to get and monitor a
firewall and turn off a lot of background services sneaking in, delete
cookies a few times each day, and set to delete everytime you close down the browser OR shut down your internet so it does not sneak on in the
background using your pc for it's own advantage.
Make sure your start up programs are heavily limited or monitored and that programs aren't allowed to do whatever they want. One is REAL PLAYER. Can be a nightmare. Many programs take over your pc and slow down things, it's important to learn what is happening with all this stuff using your pc at it's own will mercy, which is really merciless mos to the time.
Give up... I've screwed around with logitech drivers for my Mac and it is a lost cause. My Mac recognizes the keyboard and mouse generic but only a few functions work. Tried installing new drivers again today and my Mac slowed way down like it was on drugs. Just forget it dude you will waste your time as I have. Apple has a relationship with Logitech but they point the finger back at Logitech.
You can always control mouse pointer motion (speed), by using Mouse Option in Control Pannel. Open Mouse option in control pannel. Here you can go to Pointor Motion, now move the slider to left side. Click on Apply and check mouse speed. When you get the required speed, Click OK.
Try testing the speed, go to this website and see what results you get. It takes a couple of minute so so be a bit patient.
If it's slow, report it to your DSL supplier.
