You should have start/accessories/system tools/defrag in your start menu. If not try to download one for free.

How to defrag toshiba thrive at100

Hi. You don't have to defrag a Toshiba tablet or any tablet's memory at all. It doesn't work like a the usual 3.5 or 2.5 HDD's that use mechanical platters. If the reason of doing it is because of a slow performance, you might want to see apps running in the background and "kill" them. Let me know if you need more information and will be more than glad to help! :)

I cant defrag my toshiba satelite p305-s8814

If you have less than about 25% of disk space available defragmentation may not be possible. You would have to clear some space. As to make its graohics faster that is nother question:It will depend on the graphics card and the Vram it has or has access to.

It won't complete the defrag. Does that mean the hard drive is going bad? The laptop is very slow, hard drive spins a lot.

You definitely should back up your files before trying to solve the issue. To defrag first check if you have enough free space and if some programs are running that are interrupting the task. Run a diskcleanup and chkdsk. The Windows defrag program will not defrag under less than 15% free space and also sometimes if other programs write to the disk while its running. So download the trial version of a reliable commercial defragger and try. (They will defrag in less than 5% free space and run in the background).

My Toshiba Satellite 2455-S3001 is running at a crawl. The cursor freezes and I can't get it to do anything.

Go to start>programs>accessories>system tools Disk Defragment.

Analyze the disk to see if it needs defragged.
You may also have a memory issue. Low memory can also cause this.

I need to tuneup my laptop and I don't have my configuration disk for my Toshiba Satellite 265. What do I do?

There are a couple of easy things you can do to tune it up. You can do a disk cleanup and a disk defrag.

To cleanup (assuming you're on XP):
Start-->All Programs-->Accesories-->System Tools-->Disk Cleanup

Select the drive you want to clean. It will tell you everything you can get rid of and all you have to do is select it and click ok.

To defrag (assuming you're on XP):
Start-->All Programs-->Accesories-->System Tools-->Disk Defragmenter

Select the drive you want to defrag and click analyze. It will tell you if you need to defrag it. This usually takes an hour or more to do, depending on size of drive and computer performance.

Use Add/Remove Programs from Control Panel to remove any unwanted programs on your computer.

My Toshiba satellite Laptop is very slow

i had the same problem with my computer. it may be that you have downloaded too many things. it loads onto your RAM storage, (computer files), and when it gets full, it goes onto the harddrive, (where you access files and things). clear up internet files and anything you don't need. if that is stilll slow upgrade your RAM. it fixed my pc
