Re: logitec desktop web cam
Did you install the software with the camera connected to
the computer? Disconnect the camera from the USB port and reinstall the
software. When the program asks you to connect the camera, do so, and it
should work. Hope this is of some help.Bud
Below is info for setting up Audio & Video to chat on
line after you install , either Skype or a messenger program.
Web Camera’s have to be
setup on the program they are to be used with.Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up to broadcast
on messengers or Skype.
Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for
the Audio and Video to function properly.
After downloading and installing Skype set it up as follows:
TOOLS, then OPTIONS, and click on Audio Settings and set the Microphone
and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
click on the Video Settings.
camera if installed properly will come up and show a picture.
on the bottom of the page click on Save.
The camera and audio should function properly.Your friends and Family will now see and
talk to you.
After downloading and installing Yahoo Messenger set it up
Messenger at the top left and click on it.
go down to Preferences and click on it.
Calling and Devices on the right and set the Microphone and Speakers to
the computer Audio Card.
go to the Test Audio section and(in blue writing) click on“Open the call setup assistant” and follow the instructions on the
you start Windows Live Messenger, expand the view by clicking on the
square on top left next to the red X.
on the Windows Live messenger window on the right side, click on “ “Show
Menus.” And then click on “Show the Menu Bar”.
go to the Menu Bar on right side, click on “ “Action.”
“TOOLS” and click “Audio and Video Setting” and follow the

When done both the Audio and Video will function properly so
you can chat and see family or friends you are connected to.

Make sure you have Microsoft DirectX installed to support your webcam Check that its plugged into a 2.0 USB socket or a powered hub Re-install your software Visit the Logitech website and browse the photo gallery for your model and click on the photo to navigate to the support page. Note - Older models on page 2 - look for the link at the bottom right of page 1 and click on it "Still can't find your product?"
In addition to the Logitech installer you will need to download Microsoft DirectX 9 or later to support your webcam
Procedure Close all programs while uninstalling - downloading and uploading software Disconnect your webcam Uninstall the current webcam software on your computer Restart computer Download the Installation package from Logitech Run the installer and choose your options during the installation - You may not want Logitech Chat but the Desktop icon for the webcam toolbar is a must. Connect your webcam when prompted.
